The word of God can't be changed no matter how much any sack of crap in mankind thinks it can, it can't be changed no matter how much someone wants it to be, and it can't be changed no matter how anyone tries to rewrite it. It says what it says, you either follow it, or you don't, there is NO compromise. God's word can not be changed, if you think it can, and you "rewrite" it so it's more palatable to you, then I think maybe you don't really believe the bible is God's word. I just read this on another post and feel it's worth repeating:

My favorite passage in the Bible is Matthew 7:1-2. Those who claim to know the word of God should re-read this passage where it says:
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

There is also another passage that reads about casting the first stone who is without sin. Don't remember the actual passage.

My God tells me that He loves ALL people. Not just straight people. Those that claim to know the word of God seem to forget this. Including our present administration and all those religious organizations who are trying to force us back in the closet and take away the rights that we have fought so hard for.

Find another cause to fight for: homelessness, gas prices, food costs rising, the stupid war in Iraq, whatever, but leave us, the LGBT community alone with all your negativity and God(less) comments. We are people too. GOD'S PEOPLE!!!

And so I must ask, which Bible are you referring too? If is be the original Hebrew Scriptures and the Greek text then you would find that it is actually telling us a completely different story than what it has become through translation.

Sodomy is a 13th century construct and includes anal sex with both males and females. It also includes oral sex. Therefore most sodomites are actually heterosexual people. Is this what you are talking about?

Sorry, it already has been rewritten many times. The words homosexual and heterosexual were coined in 1892 by a researcher studying human sexuality. The word homosexual is incompatible with what was meant by the original authors who had a much different concept of both human sexuality and reproduction than we have today.

No it doesn't. First of all, it does not say anything about women. Second, it is in reference to Canaanite worship where same sex activity in the temple were part of their ritual.
