“Bishop Lawrence continues to use the diocese’s marks without the consent of Bishop vonRosenberg or the diocese. As a result, Bishop Lawrence falsely suggests to consumers of religious services and charitable donors that his activities are undertaken with the authority of the diocese and that he acts in accordance with the values of The Episcopal Church,” the complaint says.

So much for our 'editor'....

An accounting is coming.

And,

Since The Protestant Episcopal Church of the U. S. A is and was formed at the point that the new nation was formed, the new Church formally severing its ties with the English King and the hierarchy of his Anglican Church, just how does the entity now claiming a prior right of existence justify reverting to its pre-severance authority?

Plus, I don't think that the SCOTUS even actually has the right to recognize the rights of the pre-severance authority. By its very nature as the highest Court of the new nation, all ownership before the Declaration, which ownership stemmed from the King's authority, was disavowed and, at once, reestablished with independence.

In other words, we have no way to cross back over in time and ownership into the previous state of authority. If you would try to do what Mark Lawrence is trying to do today, only you were doing it in the year, say 1795 for instance, you would be rightly accused and found guilty of Treason!

... so TEC has officially severed ties with the ABC and is no longer part of the world-wide Anglican Communion?

This lawusit should be stayed. There is already a pending state court action concerning much of the same issues. Under those circumstances, a federal court will normally defer to the state court to resolve those issues.

George,

You say you are or were a member and a vestryman in The Episcopal church and that your wife is soon to become an Episcopal Church priest?

How is it that you have so little knowledge of the history of TEC (PECUSA)?

Here is the Oath of Supremacy required of the Anglican Clergy:

Text of the Oath as published in 1559:

"I, A. B., do utterly testify and declare in my conscience that the Queen's Highness is the only supreme governor of this realm, and of all other her Highness's dominions and countries, as well in all spiritual or ecclesiastical things or causes, as temporal, and that no foreign prince, person, prelate, state or potentate hath or ought to have any jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence or authority ecclesiastical or spiritual within this realm; and therefore I do utterly renounce and forsake all foreign jurisdictions, powers, superiorities and authorities, and do promise that from henceforth I shall bear faith and true allegiance to the Queen's Highness, her heirs and lawful successors, and to my power shall assist and defend all jurisdictions, pre-eminences, privileges and authorities granted or belonging to the Queen's Highness, her heirs or successors, or united or annexed to the imperial crown of this realm. So help me God, and by the contents of this Book."

This was the oath, modified for allegiance to the King, that the Church clergy of pre-revolutionary War Colonies had previously taken and then had to openly, publicly deny when the Revolution came.

How about official bias and spin?

Despite it's unique member status, isn't TEC historically still part of the Anglican Communion.

George is a faker and a troll. He is no more Episcopalian than a parking meter in front of the church. He does not know simple common knowledge things about the church nor about anything here in the very small community of Jacksonville.

Stick to something you know something about - gay bars, bath houses, rest stops on the interstate...
There is CONCURRENT jurisdiction under the Lanham Act - that means Mr. Moron, that both state and federal courts have jurisdiction to hear claims.

I confess I am not an Episcopalian though once I was. I never claimed to know all or anything about Jacksonville although I have been there numerous times. I know more than I want to know about the organization that fraudulently calls itself a Christian church.

The Dean of the Havana Cathedral came to have a special treatment for his voice at Mayo Clinic. He brought my Christmas gift from his dear wife to church yesterday. They are a small jar of pickled apples. Just darlingly adorable. I don't know if I am going to open them or just save them to look at and enjoy the love of these fine people.

I am so blessed to have been able to go to Cuba twice. I hope to be able to visit again.

For her to send me a gift was so kind.
