Labor official told employees to vote in religion contest

Mar 11, 2013 Full story: dailycaller.com 26
A top Obama administration Department of Labor (DOL) official sent an email to Department employees March 1, as workers were fearing furloughs as a result of sequestration, urging them to vote in an Episcopal Church-themed online game called “Lent Madness,” prompting outrage from Department workers who perceived the email as being in poor taste and a possible violation of separation of church and state ... from dailycaller:

"Fillichio urged Department workers to vote for Roosevelt administration Labor Secretary Frances Perkins (1933-45)– a saint in the Episcopal church – in the online game, which was devised by two Episcopal priests and pits various saints against each other in a 'March Madness'-style elimination contest.

"'I sent [the email] to my team,' Fillichio confirmed to the Daily Caller, saying that he encouraged Office of Public Affairs employees to support Perkins.'It’s the one hundredth anniversary of the Labor Department. It was just meant to be morale-boosting'...

"Labor Department employees expressed concern that they were being encouraged to participate in an online game in the midst of concerns about sequestration-related furloughs, and that the email might be a violation of separation of church and state, as governmental computers were used to promote a religious game associated with the Episcopal Church."

Although TEC is very P.C., it isn't very "religious".

Yeah. Most "Saints" have been shown to have a wart or two. The Roman Catholic process of determining sainthood was created specifically for the purpose of determining if the "warts" are to be seen as insufficiently significant compared to the benefit in Spirit and the demonstration of Love that the individual brought to his or her fellow humans.

Think Mother Theresa had any flaws? She certainly thought she did and who would know better?

Martin Luther King was a civil rights leader and martyr whose ministry and legacy has inspired many to overcome the constraints that others try to place upon those who are perceived to be less deserving. His message was at the very least a message of freedom, accomplishment, imagination and the right to excel.

Was he a "Saint?" Some say so.

TEC says so, as well as Frances Perkins, whom I've never heard of until this story.

I wonder if MLK and Frances are pitted against one another in TEC's "Lent Madness" elimination contest?

Why, does she make you feel less than the man you are?

She's got to make you fell bad about sitting on your lazy ass with your buried talent.

That's a little bit strong. You don't want to make it so the guy can't smile, even if he smiles for all the wrong reasons.

A teaspoon of Mr. Clean would be sufficient. Plus, it would be more colorfully bubbly with green and yellow bubbles vs. the rabid foam that he now presents.

PSALM 139...just for you Joe.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

That Pslam is not just for me, but for any Christian who doesn't put up with the falsehoods coming from you and your fallen denomination.

TEC has abandoned any semblence of orthodox Christianity to try to bolster its dwindling membership, the Faustian equlivalent of selling out.

So, once again you are determining who is Christian and who is not. How typical of you.

So, despite the fact that we are doing the work Jesus commanded you see no fruit.

Open your eyes Mr. Buried Talent, you might see people doing as Jesus said.

Jesus said whatever you do to the least of these (you make it know we are the least) you do to or for Jesus.

Doesn't that make you think, a little, that a tree, bush or shrub needs the outdoor sunlight?

Stay buried and think on it....

Here is the essence of the problem. Our Bibles say that by their fruits you shall know them, while their's says by their "FRUITS" you shall know them. So we can know TEO by the FRUITS (GLBTXYZ BLAH BLAH BLAH) that inhabit their pews.

Well,.... Yes, I suppose you are right.

But, on the other hand, we have a leader who has shown us how we are supposed to act and who we are supposed to sit alongside and regard as fellow humans, perfectly acceptable as Children of God.

This person was crucified and killed a while back for having these views and taking time and energy to be identified with social outcasts. But, somehow he survived being extinguished in this world and was found alive again a few days later. Then, he instructed us as to how to proceed in the work that he started.

This we are doing and we are glad to do it.

Here's some of your rotten fruit, courtesy of TEC Bishop Spong.

... Since God can no longer be conceived in theistic terms, it becomes nonsensical to seek to understand Jesus as the incarnation of the theistic deity. So the Christology of the ages is bankrupt.

... The Biblical story of the perfect and finished creation from which human beings fell into sin is pre-Darwinian mythology and post-Darwinian nonsense.

... The virgin birth, understood as literal biology, makes Christ's divinity, as traditionally understood, impossible.

... The miracle stories of the New Testament can no longer be interpreted in a post-Newtonian world as supernatural events performed by an incarnate deity.

... The view of the cross as the sacrifice for the sins of the world is a barbarian idea based on primitive concepts of God and must be dismissed.

And there's even more ...
