from generousorthodoxy:

"... I read an op-ed recently that stayed with me. It pointed out that the great majority of people who die from gunshot wounds in the USA are poor, black, or Hispanic. This factor seems to be lost on the NRA and other gun supporters who think of gun owners as white people."

Rev. Rutledge's racial profiling fails to factor into account that the majority of shooters of those who die from from gunshot wounds in the USA are also poor, black, or Hispanic.

Something more than 50% of murderers whose races have been identified are reported to be Black. If the statistics attributable to murders apparently committed by Blacks are removed from US totals, we would have murder rates comparable to those seen in most of Europe. On the flip side, however, is the fact that mass murders are committed far more frequently by white males. Not sure what it all means in terms of our culture(s) but there is plenty food for thought.

I think that is changing with the influx of muslim immigrants into Europe; sunni muslims commit more than 90% of all so-called honor killings regardless of what nation they reside in.

That's two untruths in just one post, which makes you either a liar, or a functional illiterate.

My choice is (c): all of the above.

Even though she herself became a priest in TEC?

Your lies are growing by leaps and bounds, but all they prove is that you're no Christian, and even though Topix is nonsectarian, it still relieved you of editing any of its forums.

Let's see you lie your way out of that.

It was in one of the threads about female priests or bishops...most likely the bishops in LA..just a guess. I don't keep screen shots of what people say and when they said it...but you def said that Fleming was against gay people and had left to join the Anglicans...

But I don't really have time to argue about the TRUTH...you said and you know it. THE END!

If you are anal enough to record conversations, you are anal enough to have a copy of all your posts.

Writing down what someone says is called journalism.

And for the record, I don't have to bookmark what I didn't say: the burden of proof is always on the accuser, but Sel's shoulders can't handle all her lies, which is probably one reason why Topix removed her as an editor.

back on Topic:

"Everyone keeps saying that this is the moment, after Newtown, to finally do something about guns. Alas, even if we are able to 'do something,' there are so many millions of guns already out there that the benefit of controls will be minimal ..."

The retired author of the above -- who resides in Westchester Country -- must have seen the map published by the Journal News that ID'ed all her neighbors who own registered firearms and who can't possibly fit into Rev. Rutledge's definition of "Everyone".
