We recently began attending a Nazarene Church and have finally found a place where we agree doctrinally. However, the church that we used to attend and were--14 year--AWANA leaders told us to leave because we now attended the Nazarene Church and they were Wesleyan in doctrine and did not believe in the OSAS (once saved always saved) doctrine. We could not be leaders if we did not believe this as it is also the doctrine of the AWANA program and any church that has an AWANA ministry must adhere to this doctrine.
So I googled and found that MANY Nazarene churches around the country have an AWANA program as one of their ministries. Can someone please tell me how this is possible? We are pretty upset about not being leaders because we go to a Nazarene church. My daughter was actually told that she was not ever a "real" Christian is she does not believe in OSAS. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. |
