Both/either - fill your boots, you're clearly off on one.

I don't consider God "my" God.
And no, I don't think God NEEDS, period; God LOVES.
I can't see that worship would be of much use to God anyway, being that for most people, worship is a formal ceremonial rendering of paying homage to God done at church.
Of course, worship is also defned as "adoring reverence". Now THAT I CAN relate to,(as can anyone else who loves the Lord.) "Adoring reverence" is practically a constant state of being for us.
But back to your question,.. would you clarify it for me, please? Are you asking why God needs to be worshipped?
Are you asking people IF THEY THINK God needs to be worshipped?
Or are you asking people WHY they think God needs to be worshipped?

And why do gods (alleged or otherwise) need to be worshipped?

I think the idea that an omnipotent being would feel a need to be worshipped by his creations is ludicrous. I think it is an entirely human concept which comes from the egotistical and vain thinking of ancient tyrannical rulers and the desire of their subjects to "suck up" and thereby acquire favors from these self-centered rulers.

PROVE JESUS CHRIST SAID THAT. Where in any Bible did Jesus say that? Where's the verse that backs up your untrue statement?

Jesus NEVER TOLD people that he was God or even equal to God even though while he was in heaven he and the angels existed and exist in spirit bodies like God. It's not good make up statements like that, be very careful in NOT doing that, especially when you do not know what you are talking about (Revelation 22:18-20)....Those three verses are not just talking about the book of Revelation, but the whole Bible.

Jesus never told people to worship him according to Matthew 4:10. Jesus said told Satan the Devil that it was only to Jehovah God that all should render sacred service and worship. He never directed worship toward himself nor worship toward others.

Scripture is often contradictory.

The scripture(s) appears "often contradictory" to those with an untrained spiritual eye and to those who are not very familiar with the contents and the contexts of the Bible. So as a result they pull something out of nowhere just to here themselves talk. It almost becomes a joke and something to be mocked at with the type of statement you made.
How very sad for you and others who knowingly or unknowingly poke fun at the scriptures by contradicting what Bible truely says with a falsehood. Maybe you heard this from someone and innocently is repeating what was told you. Or you were so bored to death that you had nothing better else to do than to make up a statement that is false and which is not backed up in the Bible. Either way you should learn to check your words and statements before making a reply, otherwise you will appear comical and those that really know what's in the Bible will NOT take you serious. There are other websites for comedians.
