Hi Christian friends,

I want to ask u one question. One day, I was chatting with a girl from USA. The girl told me an interesting fact, that in Chrisian religion, it is paramount, impreative and compulsory for all the women of all ages and all families to keep it tidy and clean, and smooth and shaved down there.

But, Christian religion is close to Sikh religion, and

Sikh religion does not allow its adherents to cut or shave or trim or snip or pull or even pluck hair from any part of the body, nowhere.

Is it true, Christians?

What does this have to do with coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ and freedom from you sins and darkness?

(Colossians 2:8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Do not confuse traditions of men for the freedom from darkness and sin. Christ, nor scripture, has instructed me in this practice

Culture and Faith are not synonymous

No, it's not true. Not of any of the various Christian groups that I know of. If you know the group, please let me know ans I will try to find out more information for you. But as it stands, I would say no.

And, do u do it, or not?
Do u have cutting (head hair), and what about the removal (or not) of the hair from other 'hiddern or other' body parts?

Well, there are other reasons one might cut their hair(head). It might be a health issue(lice), a safety issue(working around some mechanical apparatus). As to it having anything to do with faith, I agree with some of the other posters. You may have been misinformed>

If you want to, that shouldn't be an issue. The 'rules' are about outward, as far as what the public can see. This is private, and a different matter.

That said, shaving will cause stubbles and be irritating when growing back. Creams are dangerous. Special wax can be used to remove it. When the hair regrows, it's softer and not so prickly. However, the first couple of times would be painful and would say one should do some research on the how. And really, really think about it before proceeding. Because once the wax is attached to the hair, there is only one option left.

Do u cut ur hair, and do u 'shave' down there?

And, are u prohibited from underarm shave or not? and, what about making eyebrows?

we are allowed to shave anything and anywhere we want, but it is not compulsory. It's not a part of the christian faith at all.

I am a lifelong Christian and I have never read or hear anything for or against shaving those areas. I would research a little before choosing your method though. When shaved hair grows back it itches and waxing, I understand, can be painful. I myself have never been brave enough to attempt waxing anything. I myself am considering laser hair removal for my face, underarms, legs, and perhaps bikini area.

I am female. I am going to do this as soon as I can afford it. And I am doing my face because of hereditary excessive hair growth so it made sense to me to do the rest at the same time. Plus I have an incredibly busy life and anything I can do to simplify is a blessing.

This person is on other fourms asking the same questions. Seems to be the only topic this person is intrested in.
