I think that the CoE should keep it's hands off of CIVIL Marriage, AND that CIVIL Law should keep it's grubby mitts off of the CoE.
Create an Insurmountable wall between church and State or in about a generation merry olde England could find itself fighting another sectarian civil war, with different factions trying to enthrone their own sects in the Laws of the Land.
For just Government of pluralistic Nation, it's laws must be the three monkeys with respect to religion ... plus a little.
Government must not see them, hear them, speak to them ... and DEFINTELY NOT fund them nor receive funds from them by any avenue whatsoever.
I agree.
Some Christians just don't care that this is about civil marriages and that no one is seeking in any way to force churches to perform any marriage they don't want to.
IMO these same Christians really want to control the rights of other citizens based on their religious beliefs and not on the Freedoms we all share (or should share).

<quoted text>I'm not trying to change anyone's lifestyle. Me saying it is wrong to be Gay isn't going to have much effect on that lifestyle.. BUT! If the Bible gives significant scripture telling the wrong and sinful act of such a chosen lifestyle. One should heed to what the Bible speaks of. Being Gay is a sin in God's eyes and Sin will not be allowed into Heaven. You cannot be Gay and claim you are a born again Christian. God makes it clear ans simple in His Word. Nettie, you can't be that dense not to know the truth. God doesn't lie. Are you Gay Nettie?

You have to believe He exist and is waiting for you to repent before Him of all your unwanted sins and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. R.R and I already chose that pathway and GOD has been Merciful and Gracious to give Love and Meaning to Our Lives. You and others could have this also....

"THE SIGN OF PEACE
Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles:I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom where you live for ever and ever. Amen.
The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you."
Peace be with you!
Mixing Holy Scripture with Catholic doctrine to prove your faulty interpretation. The RCC consistently lies to non-Christians by failing to warn them only faith in His sacrifice in blood will bring true peace between man and God. The world shall soon gather under a banner of false peace, which shall be rejected and harshly judged by the Lord during the Great Tribulation and upon His Second Coming! The RCC is leading the way toward this world peace, so the clerics of Rome are not on the side of the Lord God. How easily fooled the lost are by the outward actions of religious men.
O' Church of Rome and its adherents, how is it "ye cannot discern the signs of the times?"

That MAY be YOUR opinion......but it is NOT a truth and it is NOT something God ever mentioned......and it's funny how folks like you continue to demand that I repent for being a Lesbian, YET you don't follow the bible word for word.......seems a bit hypocritical if ya ask me!!!
If you followed the Bible word for word, you would certainly KNOW that God condemns homosexuality in both the Old & New Testaments!

Being homosexual is not a sin.

You have no idea how God will judge anyone. You are not God.

Of course sharing the gospel will be on a basic milk level. The TRUE gospel message is very simple and straight to the point. Saved by grace through FAITH (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 4:5, John 3:15-18, etc etc), FAITH plus NOTHING! True salvation does bring forth fruit, but that's a result of REAL salvation not the cause of it! Once again, NO ONE can earn their salvation by works or deeds or any other way! Jesus Christ is the ONLY way into Heaven!

Unbelievers couldn't handle the meat of the gospel, even the baby and/or weak Christians have trouble digesting it. When I post on non-Christian sites such as this, I try to keep my posts as simple and milk-level as possible. Getting people saved is the #1 priority!

Nettie, quit the play Catholic games. You don't even know what YOU allegedly believe. If you were a REAL Catholic we'd be agreeing on many issues throughout this Christian forum. Things like the Trinity, the virgin birth of Christ, homosexuality/fornication/adul tery being a sin, abortion being murder, etc etc are areas we'd be in complete agreement.
You're a person who grew up in a Christian church environment, and either the people around you were hypocrites and that turned you off or the Holy Spirit was constantly convicting you to get saved, so you left "Christianity" to join the Catholics to make your family and/or past friends upset. No saved person leaves a Christian church for a non-Christian church. But "1 John 2:19" explains your kind in great detail!
1 John 2:19- They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
Do you even go to a Catholic Church on a regular basis? Of course not, you're on Topix playing copy/paste Catholic almost 24/7.
And missing Mass is a mortal sin! Tsk, tsk.

I will never agree with your constantly condemning folks, RR.
And when the rebellious Jews got tired of the Old Testament prophets "condemning" them, they eventually resorted to murdering them. Those "glory days" will occur again in the near future. Anyone declaring Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, will be considered hate mongers. it will one day be illegal to make such a declaration in every country on Earth. Those who violate that International Law, will be arrested, imprisoned and put to death. Sound familiar, Nettie, thou worshipper of the "First Church of Inquisitions?"

Most of the books/writings floating around and being used by various folks were not included in the New Testament, dear.
It was the Catholic Church who determined which of these hundreds of books were to BE the New Testament.
The New Testament is a Catholic document.
And then they hid it from the masses, forbidding the common man from possessing it. So, the Lord confounded their squelching of the Gospel via reformers and protesters, the printing press, and then America!

Wrong! James was just pointing out that all TRUE Christians will have some form of good works (good fruit). If a person CLAIMS to be a Christian and yet NEVER produces any good work, then perhaps they were never TRULY saved to begin with. This also ties in with the sheep and goats verses (Matt 25:32-46), although that's actually a Second Coming passage (see Matt 25:31). But works are NOTHING towards a person's salvation. A person is justified by FAITH plus NOTHING!
A lot of people do good works but they NOT TRULY saved. A person that is trying to earn their salvation will hear the dreaded words of "I never knew you: depart from me" from Jesus. Those so-called Christians in Matthew 7:21-23 thought they would get into Heaven by their works, but found themselves eternally wrong.
James makes it crystal clear that a person is saved by FAITH ALONE!
James 2:23- And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
..........
..........
Snyper, check out this simple illustration of the TRUE gospel message:
If someone can be saved by their faith alone, that would mean that God really has no say in the matter, wouldn't it?

I'm amazed that you would believe that Matthew 7:21-23 was written as a wake-up call for everyone but you. Oh, I forgot, you got it right, you are certain of this, God will agree whether He wants to or not, because you have faith. That's a tough sell when folk can tell the difference between figs and thistles.
