I neither need nor want your prayers, but if you enjoy talking to yourself, be my guest!

Christians have no business listening to any form of worldly music, period. Whether it is rock, country, pop, etc.
Music is a rather powerful thing.
It can lift your spirits, give you a message, or just be soothing.
Some music is quite lively, yes; my grandparents feared Rock and Roll, but it surely got us teens through 'teenhood'.

I would rather listen to rap than read your posts, but that's just me.

The folks down the street are a God fearing, church going family, and their son gets out in his car in the backyard and plays rap music for about an hour sometimes.
This usually prompts two or three other neighbors to get out and mow their front yard; two others neighbors start playing bluegrass music turned all the way up; several dogs howl.
Still, he is a good son to them, works steadily, helps out around the house, etc.

Everyone is different and taste in music varies with everyone.

Give me light classical or rock 'n roll.

Ya go problems with that?
Then, don't listen to music........your choice.

If a song is about selling drugs, using drugs, womanizing, calling a woman a hoe or a witch, and repeated us of the N word and 3-4 other curse words, would it make a differnce if it were:
-Rap
-Rock
-Pop
-Jazz
-R&B
-Country
-Heavy Metal

No because it is vulgar trash in different forms.

In the same manner, if a sound glorifies God and is not talking about everything I listed above, it doesnt matter if it is:
-Rap
-Rock
-Pop
-Jazz
-R&B
-Country
-Heavy Metal

can you imagine Jesus walking here and there preaching and bebopping to rap LOL
the two don't go together.
nothing peaceful about rap music
do a thorough search on rap music, it's origin and it's intended use.
you cannot buy a rap cd without a label
"parental advisory" because of lyric content. that should say enough right there about rap music.

the same for heavy metal, it is associated with the devil and the hand sign of making two devil horns, a fist with the index and pinky finger upward.
Judge in yourselves, isn't that what it says. Christians "know" what is wrong and what is right.

Making such a sign would only have any significance if a being such as the devil existed. It has as much significance as making a fist and sticking your index and pinkie up your nose!

Christians are to exercise 'self- control'

The lost are sloppy in habits...like unrestrained children.

You fundies really do have your heads up your ass. What an arrogant lot you are. What's with this self control bs? Are you all really so weak willed that so much "tempts" you and you feel you need to exercise self control? I thought you said that you "know" what is right and what is not. Do you have to exercise "self control" to stop yourself from killing someone or taking drugs or robbing someone or cheating on your spouse or partner? I know I don't, I don't feel tempted to do any of those things, and making such a song and dance about music just shows how messed up you fundies are. Come to think of it, saying you are making a song and dance of it is maybe not the correct description, you probably object to both those things as well!

well to be quite frank, I don't know if the war in heaven will be when satan is no longer allowed to stand before God and accuse the believers before God.
If you read the book of Job chapter 1 and 2, you will read that satan is allowed before God in heaven after walking to and fro in the earth.
I believe there will come a time when God will say no longer will satan be allowed this luxury.
Revelation chapter 12 starting with verse 7 talks about the war in heaven. hope this helps

Hey, that brings to mind a joke:
Know why Baptists never have sex standing up?
They don't want to be accused of dancing!
