10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

So one thing Xstians need to consider is this...
If the man Christ existed.... then when he read or quoted from what we know today know as the Old Testament, it would not have been from any translation based on the Masoretic Text.... it simply did not exist then....it was written after he had died.
So what?
Well as the above states that at least 90% of bibles in use today, the translations of the OT contained therein have come from the Masoretic Text a text that Christ or the very early church fathers never used...
And another serious point to consider...
If you have 1, studied the bible and 2, believe in bible prophecy then you know that many of the prophecies used historical events such as a particular year in the rulership of a particular king as the starting point to count forward to in calculating the fulfilment of some of the bible's prophecies....
For example.... in the fifth year of the rule of King so and so )...
So if one person's bible's OT translation is based on the Masoretic Text and the other person's bible's OT translation is based on the Septuagint Text.....
Then it is entirely possible that two people discussing the same prophecy, using the same historical event (if it is based on biblical chronology) as a commencement date, will end up with an almost 1400 year difference in the calculated fulfilment of the prophecy
Your dichotomy is easily placated.

We know from Old Testament quotations attributed to Jesus and the evangelists, recorded in the best New Testament translations, that Jesus and the evangelists used The Septuagint text.

The original published Bible canon used the same Septuagint Old Testament that Jesus et.al; were familiar with and the better Bible translation still remains faithful and true to that today.

The reason the protestant KJV deviated from the Septuagint is because the Septuagint lends itself to proof that Catholicism is the original and only true Christian church.
Everything else is just an imitation.

Wow.... you surprise me. With over 41,000 registered denominations of Christianity and still counting and you come out with

It's all imitation, that's the point and the Catholic church just by virtue of size alone leads the way when it comes to imitation.... it has 'Christianised' more so called 'pagan' rituals than probably all the rest put together....

But anyway..... I'm cool with whoever wishes to believe that church is the best, or the truest..

My point was more about the almost 1400 years in difference in chronology that exists between the two texts....

I mean after all if the book is supposed to be inspired... what does that tell us about what we have presented today?

One would think that if salvation depended on having the correct faith.... you'd think god would take a little more care with who he allows to translate it...
