is a commandment it is said that Moses got from God to give to Jews who were the only group of people believing in monotheism.

Now, born again evangelicals state that the commandments are for Christians, so why is it they don't have their Sabbath when the Jews, who got the word from God via Moses, celebrate the Sabbath; from Friday night through Saturday night. Is HObby Lobby breaking the commandment?

You are going to hear alot of back and forth as to why Christians don't keep it. But the bible does say that is was given to Israel as a sign. Atleast the yearly Sabbaths (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles)

Exodus 31:16-17 “Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.”

Ezekiel 20:12
12 Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy.

Covenant Signs
Noahic= Rainbow
Abrahamic= Circumcision

Each day follows the previous day in a never-ending circular pattern. Can you say for certain which one is the first and which one is the seventh?

I think he must be referring to Eph 1:13

Ephesians 1:13-14

13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

As for being sealed by the Holy Spirit 2 Cor 1:22 and Eph 4:30 says so as well also.

2 Corinthians 1:22
22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Ephesians 4:30
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption

The seventh day after 6 days of work. Why would it be a specific day?

What does that have to do with the new covenant?

.

According to the NT (Hebrews 10:15-28) it means everything.

.

It's just a shame that many Gentiles insult the Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10:26-28) by teaching their congregations that God's laws, which were given to Moses on Mt. Sinia(that Jesus clearly taught), were nullified after the crucifixion.

.

Yes, the sacrifices for sins by a high priest have been clearly done away with for the past 2,000 years but not the entire Laws of Moses. If only they'd include passages like Romans 2:14-16 and Romans 8 into their teachings would they see the distinction between the two but hey Gentiles would rather not have their thoughts revealed.

Those are the signs of the covenants.

Sign of Covenant with Noah:
Genesis 9:17
17 So God said to Noah,“This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

Sign of Covenant with Abraham:
Genesis 17:10-11
10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11 You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.

Sign of Covenant with Moses:
Exodus 31:13
13 “Say to the Israelites,‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.

Sign of Covenant with All believers that have placed their faith in Christ:
2 Corinthians 1:22
22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Ephesians 4:30
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption

The thing is the "holy spirit" did not testify this. It was God Almighty who said something about the new covenant.

First paragraph I agree with.

The second, Im not so sure. Is Ezekiel a false prophet? Because he said something of a temple being built where sacrifices would be offered. Was he lying or false prophesying?

No one said it wasn't God Almighty's word. I understand that even when God Almighty's emissary (who is also refered to as God on Mt. Horeb--examle: Exodus 3) is speaking, that at the end of the day it is still God Almighty's words being spoken through his emissary. And just in case you're wondering, no I don't believe the wHoly Spirit is the same being as God Almighty who is Spirit and has always been whole.

Again, no one said any of this. I was just pointing out that no high priest has been able to make sacrifices for sin in the Temple for the past 2,000 years and that Gentiles should not be using this to say the entire Laws of Moses are now invalid.

Gotcha... Though this doesnt explain the whole "holy spirit = new covenant" thing you or someone else said, I guess we'll just leave it at that.
