“Jesus=only way into Heaven” Since: Nov 12
saved by grace through faith |
Judged: 1 1 1 We are ALL sinners! That's why Jesus left the glory of Heaven, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, offered up that perfect sinless life to make atonement for our sins, He died and rose from the grave and showed His resurrected body to the apostles and over 500 eye-witnesses, after 40 days He ascended to be at the right hand of the Father. You see, we were all slaves to sin....but the sacrifice of Jesus made it possible for us to be considered righteous before a Holy God. We have salvation by believing in the sinless sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus, not by our own works (Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16-18, Ephesians 2:8-9). Romans 6:18- Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Question: "How can I know for sure that I will go to Heaven when I die?" Answer: http://www.gotquestions.org/know-sure-Heaven.... |

Judged: 1 The definition of slave changed a great deal from the time preceding the first century of our era and the antebellum days of the old US south. This is the great problem of the uneducated trying to interpret history, they become awash in the sea of the present trying to swim in the waters of the past. Go to your nearest adult education program and enroll in ancient history. Until then, quit trying to prove yourself a fool in public. |

Judged: 1 1 1 What was the life of Jesus like when he was a teenager? Was he really that perfect sinless kid? If you don't know what parts of His life was about, how can you declare it was truly sinless? What is the details of His life when He was 5 years old? Did He crap in His pants when He was one year old? Why would God crap in His own pants? Oh, yeah, to make His mother suffer! |

Yes, so clearly she was like all of us. But the question was more pointed. Was she a sinner for disobeying her master and freeing other slaves? Did that go against God's will? Would it have been more Christian of her to submit to her master and not try to free herself and other slaves? And where is Harriet Tubman's spirit? In heaven or the other place? Did God condemn her spirit for going against scripture and never repenting (I'm quite sure she never said "dear Lord forgive me for my sins of freeing myself and my fellow slaves)? Or maybe it's not a mortal sin? Did she go to Purgatory? |

Last time I checked Paul was not God Almighty. So unless God Almighty said that about slaves, I wouldnt look too much into it
|
|
Christ said it. Here's a link with some passages. http://www.evilbible.com/Slavery.htm This site is clearly trying to use these passages to say the Bible is bad, but I believe that if it says so in the Bible then it is the right thing even if it seems evil at first. If the Bible says slaves should obey their masters then they should and they should not run away or try to agitate for freedom and abolitionists are enablers. |

1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. Christ even says it is OK to beat slaves! Luke 12:47-48 NLT The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given. |

Nope. The context tells you that Jesus was NOT referring to servants of men but servants of God Almighty. |
|
I have seen nothing to prove that. Can you prove it? |
|
I understand you havent see anything to prove it. Because you would have had to READ IT FIRST to see that lol but I'll post it 35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” As you can see he was saying that he was thief (in parable). Not saying that he would come and steal from us but that he would come at a time we do not expect. You get this from the text right? 41 Peter asked,“Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?” 42 The Lord answered,“Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. 44 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45 But suppose the servant says to himself,‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. Bam. As you see in verse 41, it was a parable. Not something speaking of slaves lol |
