Hmm...
That's a valid point I didn't consider. And the Catholic church does push the doctrine of followers to be more "Christ like", which scares the hell out of the fundies.
Which is why I love to post that list of things a Christian is suppose to abide by to become a real Christian, more "Christ like", and see them run for the hills.

Well, they're already "saved" lol! I mean, they don't have to work on things like their behavior, bigotry, dishonesty or just growing up, in general.

That's just pure egotistical delusion on their part.
They are way too stupid to even TRY to understand the SPIRIT of anything good in the scriptures. They just pick choice verses out of context to use as insults/condemnations for those whom they hate. To put others down, and think that makes them "superior" somehow.
Agreed. the need to feel superior just shows how insecure they really are.

Downtown Calgary evacuated as flood threatens city

Residents leave the flooding downtown core as new orders evacuating all of downtown were issued in Calgary, Alberta 21 June 2013 Calgary's public transit downtown has been shut and many firms and schools are closed

Authorities have ordered the evacuation of downtown Calgary as flooding has left swathes of the city underwater.

Torrential rain and floodwaters have washed away roads and bridges around Alberta's largest city and have caused landslides elsewhere in the province.

Both rivers that flow through Calgary, the Bow and Elbow, have flooded.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is expected to tour flood-damaged areas later on Friday and has promised federal assistance.

The Elbow crested near the city earlier on Friday but Alberta Premier Alison Redford warned residents should be prepared for more flooding downstream.

Communities further south were under total evacuation orders; roughly half the homes in the town of High River were flooded.
Swept away

While an estimated 230,000 people live and work in Calgary's downtown area, officials believed there would be few people to evacuate because many did not come into work on Friday.

Some 25 neighbourhoods in Calgary, a city of one million, had already been evacuated. An estimated 75,000 residents have been ordered out of their homes there.

The floods come after a rainy week in Alberta, capped by 4in (10cm) of downpour on Thursday.

Military helicopters rescued about 30 people off rooftops in the Calgary area. At least 350 soldiers are being dispatched to the flood zone, according to the defence minister's office.

The mountain resorts of Banff and Canmore were left isolated after the Trans-Canada Highway was closed.

So was this just a random act of nature, or was it the result of the Christian's "god" going on one of his wrathful killing rampages because someone was planning a gay pride protest against the church, someone bashed their finger and exclaimed "JESUS CHRIST THAT HURT!", or some other grievous transgression against his wishes?

Thoughts anyone?

Don't worry. I'm cautious enough on the internet as it is. I don't use any personal names of people I know, nor do I give out my real name or how old I am. I'm pretty smart when it comes to thinking on my feet. I've already been duped once on another website (not mentioning the name.)

Bob Of Quantum Faith told me it doesn't matter who I am in real life, what matters are my words and actions online. I was touched by that comment, so I am convinced that it doesn't really matter what gender I am or what age I am.

Who cares? I've decided to not bother with the Christian forum anymore. Most of them are not very nice, anyway. Who'd expect a religious person to be kind to an agnostic? I've seen them make a lot of nasty responses to you, Seen. We knew each other on my other account, too.

JML is a mentally sick troll who used a lot of "Doctor" nics when he first came here, so we often refer to any of his nics/IDs, as "doc". He just makes up outrageous lies to provoke people and get an emotional response. He just likes to hurt people as much as he can. Yet claims to be a "Christian".
And it would not surprise me if JML or some other fundie troll is stalking you around giving you those negative judgeicons. They will do that you know. They may also make up false nics/IDs and pretend to be someone else, to befriend you, and get some personal information to track you down, or try using it against you in some way. So please be careful with ANY personal information, and not give it out to anyone.
Just some friendly advise. For while they may CLAIM to be "REAL" Christians, some of them are complete psychos who are really dangerous.
I will take the necessary precautions, Seen. I hid my posts, which is something I should have done from the start. That's probably how they find me-they know exactly where I post. Rid them of that knowledge, and they won't be able to track me unless they painstakingly go through every thread, which takes time and effort to do, and only someone dedicated to that would do that.

When did you receive this spiritual insight, may I ask? Was it a few years ago, or many years ago? I've never had one of those NDE's. No one close to me has had any either. I've always assumed that they were just a hallucination the brain made while dying.

Thanks, but she probably wouldn't read it. She doesn't read atheist books either. I read agnostic books, atheist books, religious books, and yes I have read the Bible and the Koran and the Book of Mormon, too. I used to be a Catholic, but now I'm an agnostic.
