I read that an oija board brought on demons in the real exorcist story, the one the movie was based on, when i was a teenager , we had a party and asked it who was the first to die in our class, ten years latter the guy the ouija board spelled out was killed. A lot of former classmates went back to church and wished they never played with the ouija board., I believe in devils I have been attacked many times on this forum for what I believe so have a lot of others. As usual you don't answer any of the questions put to you. What are you so scared of? People here have given you fact after proven fact about the corruption in the bigot..I mean cathlic church. PROVEN HISTORICAL FACT and yet instead of addressing that issue you insult a woman's parenting skills and then openly insult a teenaged girl. And THEN you call that same girl immature. Look in a mirror sometime before you sit there and insult everyone else. Clean up your own backyard before you start putting down everyone elses. Coward.

I'm interested in your thoughts regarding what you would say to people who have had an "experience" that frightened them and made them think about the spiritual realm? Hello, Steadfast. While I believe in a spiritual realm I do not believe in demons or demonic possession. That is not to say that their aren't spirits out there with a wish to cause trouble, just as there are living people with a desire to hurt others. But I also feel that the majority of those supposedly possessed are actually people with a mental illness that just need treatment and understanding.

I just remembered I had a friend who ,s grandma died and she told a priest that this so called grandma came back after she died and sat on the bed and told her to do bad things. The priest told her to ask the entity if she believed in Jesus Christ, she did that and the spirit went away as soon as she said His name. we wouldtry to have a seance around when I was thirteen or fourteen, we all got very, very sick at the same time,we didn,t eat anything before hand,it was terrible, we all went to confession that Sunday! Just remembered huh? I don't believe your story.

They shouldn't be sold to innocent children either at Toys R Us. Are they fools? Objects only have power if you give them power. If you want it to be 'evil' then for you it will be. I have used spirit boards for years and have suffered no ill effects, no hauntings, no possession, none of that crap. You treat the board with respect and don't psych yourself up to the hooplah and you have no problems. The problem stems from people like you and Knit that look for evil (insert scarey voice) in everyone and everything instead of seeing the good that is really there. Hmmm come to think of it, no wonder so many catholic priests turn to peodophilia, all they have to do is go to confession and all is right again. It must be great to be able to point the finger at some made up monster to blame all your 'sins' on. Personally I would rather take the blame for my own mistakes and live up to my responsibilites instead of looking for a scapegoat.

Hello Dawn: I believe that what was formerly called "possessed" was often a mental illness and that certainly should be investigated and treated. But I also believe there is more to this than simply that, but it's ok to agree to disagree on this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The topic is exorcism? You mean that in these times some people still belive in a stupid thing like a person's possessed? They know about mental sicknesses now and being possessed by the devil is a stupid superstition. I can't belive there are real priests who would actually do this silliness! Next thing you know they'll be sprinkling their houses with holy water so everybody inside will be safe from anything bad, like keeping vampires out, lol.

Stedfast wrote: <quoted text> Hello Roku: Yes, I've even done that to myself (I used to scare myself silly at times getting things out of our dark pantry in the basement as a kid). But I grew out of that...used common sense as time went on, with more information. Jumping to conclusions is never a good idea. But if there is a spiritual realm, ignoring it probably isn't a good idea either. Your thoughts? You can't be ignoring a spiritual realm unless you first assume there is one to ignore. I can't positively say that there is no spiritual realm, nor can I say positively that I have seen verifiable evidence of the existence of a spiritual realm.

Stedfast wrote: <quoted text> Hi Nettie: The Ouji board is a game board with letters printed on it and a moveable hand piece. You ask the 'spirits' to guide you to spell out things (and use numbers, etc.) Not a game at all really so I'm amazed it's sold as such. I have observed people playing that game many times. As of yet I have witnessed no spirits guiding the game piece only the hands of the players. Even discounting someone consciously moving the game piece, the odds of it moving are pretty good. Simply body mechanics can cause it to move as various players arms relax and tense. The changing weight of the arms of players seated around the board creates the movement.

'Furthermore, these tests demonstrate that "honest, intelligent people can unconsciously engage in muscular activity that is consistent with their expectations" (Hyman 1999). They also show that suggestions that can guide behavior can be given by subtle clues (Hyman 1977).' http://www.skepdic.com/ideomotor.html

For me it is a way to see what is out there. Now, honestly, its been a few years since I last used one, but when I did use them on a regular basis I had a lot of questions and with the spirit boards I had a way to ask them. Whether it was my subconscience answering or an actual spirit, I can't say for certain. But at the time it brought me a sense of closure over certain incidents that happened in my life.

How Adam Got Eve Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely. So, God asked him,'What's wrong with you?' Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to. God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman. He said,'This pretty lady will gather food for you, she will cook for you,and when you discover clothing, she will wash it for you. She will always agree with every decision you make and she will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will praise you! She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. 'She will NEVER have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it.' Adam asked God,'What will a woman like this cost?' God replied,'An arm and a leg.' Then Adam asked,'What can I get for a rib?' Of course the rest is history..........

Rob wrote: <quoted text> You treat an inanimate object with respect? Why? Well, Rob. There are different types of respect. I always respect my things. I wouldn't beat up and abuse a gift, because that would be disrespecting the person who got it for me. Just as I wouldn't abuse something I bought myself as that would be showing disrespect for myself. Understand?

Franck thinks that taking theology makes him more knowledgeable about Wicca than actual Wiccans. He's been told, by people who ALSO don't know better, that we have to 'receive' power from an outside source, which he assumes are demons. I suppose he can't help it that he believes an untruth that he has been told, but he arrogantly refuses to entertain the probability that actual practitioners of the religion just MIGHT know a bit more than he does.

She knows that no matter what, she will always have someone to talk to. Also - her school teachers have practically kicked me out of every parent teacher meetings! Why? Because they had nothing bad to say. Since the age of 5 (Kindergarten) her teachers have done nothing but praise her academic skills and manners, and each and every single teacher have attributed a great deal of that to our Parenting. She was reading and writing in Kindergarten and was then placed into an advanced Reading program. She is the best kid any parent can ever ask for and we are sooooo proud of her. She's also entertaining beyond belief LOL.

Nettiebelle wrote: <quoted text>Somehow I don't think a Ouija Board is needed to 'bring out evil spirits or demons'. Why would a demon need a board game in order to attack or try to possess a human being? My feeling is that the Ouija Board opens up a doorway not necessarily to Demons but to spirits that are not always friendly. And once they've been allowed to come through it's difficult to get them to leave again. It happened to a Wiccan friend of mine. She eventually had to move. She allowed a very mischievous in and it would exhibit very poltergeist activity. I DO believe in a Spiritual realm though. I believe that when we die..energy remains. My daughter could tell you this too, soon after my Mom passed away things would happen like lights being turned on or off, the VCR would suddenly start things would fall down. All this activity came to an end after we had her Memorial service. I also grew up in a house in the Bronx that we all believed was haunted. I grew up afraid to get out of bed in the dark. There were always sounds and cold spots. I only found out afterwards that the woman who lived there before had committed suicide. I'm still sensitive to these things now. A few years ago we were looking at houses to possibly buy or rent. And in one house, a beautiful Victorian, I developed an overwhelming sense of sadness that I could not explain. I felt like crying. But when I left the house the feeling was gone. So I believe in ghosts if you will!!
