I have an off-topic question about...cultural differences?

Okay, as crazy as this question may seem, it's being asked out of sincere curiosity and isn't for the purpose of inflaming or bashing anyone.

With that said, here's the situation.

I'm in an African forum and a brother brings up a topic stating that white women generally smell better than nigerian women and nigerians in general because they tend to be lacking in hygiene..and then someone else said that white Americans have good hygiene but many whites in parts of europe--especially France--tend to be lacking in that area and stink also.

So here's my question. While I've spent some time in Germany, I havn't traveled theoughout the rest of europe...and this is something that I've heard time and time again which leads me to believe that perhaps there's some truth to it--that Americans tend to have better hygiene habits (i.e we shower daily, etc) and are different in other basic ways---like, for example, most of us are circumcised whereas most europeans aren't---right?

So, anyways, to those Americans here whom have traveled throughout europe--would you agree that there are cultural differences in hygiene practices between Americans and Europeans?

Like I said, I've heard this and similiar tales numerous times, including from an aquaintance of mine whom once told me that he knew for a short time a french girl whom wouldn't bathe everyday because, he said, she deemed it un-neccessary and a waste of water, and that water is expensive in France, lol.

Any truth to this?

This English lady baths or showers at least once a day. Can't speak for anyone else.

I rather expect that in both the US and Europe there are a mix of those who have better hygiene than others.

Thr phrase cleanliness is next to godliness springs to mind.

Why did your god not make people out of self cleaning materials?

Because that would mean we'd be denied the pleasure of a long candlelit soak in a bubble bath while eating chocs and drinking a glass of vino.

The taps are in the middle. You can have the plug hole end though.

IMHO it's not much of a drawback for an uncircumcised male to keep themselves clean :-}

Sounds good, Covent Garden is cool. Used to walk through there most days when I worked in London.
Have a fun time.

Yes, there is truth to it. Hygiene is a relative thing. I've been around - and due to various reasons some folks dont wash every day. and access to plentiful water is often the cause. Americans are spoiled by how much water they have available at moments notice.(BTW; if you think oil is expensive - wait 5 years and see the steep rise in the price of water - especially where there ain't none and its piped in over great distances...the future wars- foreign and domestic - will be fought over water rights...)

That said, Americans do stink in their own, over-fed, fast food fried onion-oozing, over-perfumed, hair-gelled, ways. The foods many Americans eat, in the amounts so many eat them, ooze from them...I can smell a 2x's day fast food eater from twenty paces with my eyes closed.
