and, simultaneously, a great deal of work to do. Topix, unpaid job that it is, is always the first place to get dumped when I have to scale back.

But I see that everyone else has picked up the posting pace so that is great.

By the way, for those who were visiting my old site, I've decided to keep it open but have changed the name.

Hope you're feeling better soon.
I'm just getting back on my feet after an allergy thing went full blown. You've got to love Spring in Tennessee.

Thanks. Yeah, I was already pretty miserable from allergies prior to the flu kicking in.

Do you mean Influenza?

If so, it's a struggle to even go on the computer. I had it once, it's the worst illness I have ever had. I wish you the best!

Alas, evolution (genetic drift in this case) at the viral scale is sometimes too fast for biomolecular scienctists to keep up with when producing next years predicted batch of genetically modified live nasal vaccines. Those tiny little complex protein folds; nature can produce some amazing things. Luckily most viruses are completely harmess to cellular life.

Thank you. I'm feeling a little better than I have been. Yes, it's influenza. Perhaps in your country they don't use the term flu? Fortunately, we are engineering much improved methods of growing the viruses. The days when the majority of vaccines are grown in eggs are numbered. Then we can be more accurate and more responsive to strain variations.

As of yet, our slight understanding of protein folding has little to nothing to do with the industry. Most of our efforts with protien folding vaccines have to do with non-viral diseases. But, yes, viral and bacterial mutations are beyond our ability to keep up with at this point.
