New International Version (NIV)
Jerusalem’s Enemies to Be Destroyed
12 A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.
The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: 2 “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. 4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the Lord.“I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. 5 Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts,‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’
6 “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surrounding peoples right and left, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.
7 “The Lord will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house of David and of Jerusalem’s inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah. 8 On that day the Lord will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord going before them. 9 On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.
All very interesting, but the world has moved on from using horses in warfare, so unless there is something in the prophecy about causing tanks and armoured vehicles to panic(how do you do that?)then I guess poor old Jerusalem is f****d!

When the Roman legions sacked Jerusalem in 70 AD it is said the blood was running knee deep in the streets. People have been predicting the end since the beginning so you are the one who has no idea what he's talking about.

Thank you for acknowledging that I'm a true Catholic. I'm also a born and bred Catholic, raised by the nuns and the Jesuits, a devout Catholic mother and an atheist dad.

I might point out that neither you, your progeny nor your ancestors have the brains to be admitted to a Jesuit high school so you're fighting a losing battle.

God bless you, your progeny and your ancestors.

Good morning Nettiebelle,

The fundies sure do get their jollies telling me I don't know what the Bible is about nor what the Catholic Church teaches.

Padre's still in Mexico so we just have a worship service and share the Eucharist but it's well worth the trip. Yesterday I read from Revelation.

Tuesday is tent revival day and Pancha is a key figure but it was cancelled last week because we prayed a Rosary because her mother died. I haven't seen her since.

God bless you.

How can you insult in one breath and bless in the next? I guess the same way you can drink on Saturday and "repent" of drunkedness on Sunday (which by the way, is NOT the true Sabbath). Just a footnote to alert you: The fact is that the only "Padre" who can forgive is God the Father and NOT your priest - no more than he has the power to heal or save you. Those traits belong to God and to God alone.

Only HYPOCRITES say "you are stupid...losers" in one breath and "God bless you..." in the next! This is NOT the love of Christ.

Father Jim says pissing on fundies is not a sin. Besides, preacherman has a nine year old's command of the Eglish language yet pretends to preside over a 275,000 member congregation and own three jet airplanes. That's how. I love him and pray for him. He's just plain nuts.

God bless you.

Let me tell you about the miracle.

Our mission church had a fiesta a few weeks back which means there was immense responsibility on Padre's shoulders. I showed up for Monday morning Mass but Padre couldn't seem to drag himself out of bed. most everybody split but Bernadette and Ricardo and I figured we should get busy cleaning up after the fiesta so we stacked and sorted about three hundred chairs and picked the cans out of the garbage and then decided to take down the lights and decorations but nobody had any tools but I only live about three minutes from the mission so I went and got some tools and we took down the lights and decorations.

Well then there were more people standing around and we decided to take apart the burrito cubicle and the gordita cubicle and the aguas frescas cubicle and all the other cubicles but nobody had any tools so I went home and got some disassembly tools including a cordless power drill for taking out the screws. I've got too batteries, one is dead and good for only about two minutes so I dropped fifty bucks for a replacement about three years ago.

Personally I prefer hand tools so I handed the power drill to an older gentlemen who never really got the hang of it but seemed to be having a good time and I went to work with a nail puller and a ratchet screwdriver. The thing is, the good battery needed a charge so I plugged in the charger and put in the battery and figured the old guy would discover in about five minutes that the dead battery was dead. It turns out the old guy and two stout guys went to work with that dead battery all day and it never failed or even seemed to slow down. It's on the charger now and it's still only good for two minutes. Go figure.

Here are some pictures from the fiesta. The bishop consecrated our new altar. Ricardo carved it.

God bless you.

Father Jim is WRONG. It is hypocritical to say "You're nuts..." and "God bless you..." in the exact same post. It's two-faced and "talking out of both sides of your mouth" and that is strictly non-biblical.

A famous line from "The Life of Brian" is "God Bless you stupid losers" er "God Bless the Big Noses"...

Sorry for the confusion.

Father Jim is not wrong. Fundies don't know anything about anything but think they've got it all figured out.

It would be hyocritical if he wasn't nuts but he's nuts.
Did you miss that part about his imaginary congregation and imaginary jet planes?

You believe the other poster is a hypocrite and he/she believes you're nutz. Looks like an impasse.

Silly me. I don't change the clocks because I'll just have to change them back in the Spring but the downside of that is sometimes I'm an hour early and sometimes I'm an hour late.

I don't have a read on Cindi. Maybe she's nuts, maybe she's not.
There is no question preacherman is nuts.

She did say this:

"I guess the same way you can drink on Saturday and "repent" of drunkedness on Sunday (which by the way, is NOT the true Sabbath)."

She probaly thinks the 'true Sabbath' is Saturday. She's probably nuts.
