I'm a straight guy who just happens to love crossdressing. I spend most of my life in "guy mode", but once every 2 weeks or so I'll get dolled up and go out for drinks. I've found many people to be pretty open to talking with me, but I'm curious as to a Christian's view on crossdressing. Do you see it as harmless? A sin? I don't see it as harmful to anyone. In my opinion, it's just a personal choice and I try to keep an open mind. Any thought?

The Bible says women should NOT wear mens clothing and vise versa it is clear. We were made different for a reason and yes if a man is wearing womens clothing I believe it is a sin because he is NOT a woman.

Where is clothing defined?
What is relevant today?
Do you wear mixed fabrics?

We as CHRISTIANS if you are one are to dress like men and women. God made us different for a reason. It has NOTHING to do with mixed fabrics it has to do with can you tell I am a woman and can I tell you are a man if you are a man (sorry I have never talked with you before) we are told NOT to wear the opposite clothing.
relevant today? girls should be wearing dresses or skirts and men should be wearing jeans or dress slacks thats how you know who is who.

I don't think a woman has to wear a skirt or dress to look like a woman. IMO Trousers on women are OK.
Men in places like Scotland wear Kilts and no way would I say they look feminine.
Also, in mid eastern countries womens and mens clothes are all very similar i.e long flowing robes.

Its all a matter of perception I think.

amish?

Ive never struggled to figure out who was male/female in a pair of jeans.

should some people not wear particular types of jeans? sure, but thats a question of delusion and not spiritual alignment.

straight guys dont JUST HAPPEN to like cross-dressing. theres a real reason why you do it...theres something that took place in your past that moved you in this direction. youre "acting out" for more than just fun...

I could care less what you wear, as long as youre not deceitful in what "you're selling" in those bars...

but I suggest you seek some understanding as to why youre doing this and thniking its just "a fun choice"...

No I am not amish I just believe women should dress as women. Now days you cannot tell a man from a lady since they started cutting their hair so short looking like a tom boy. The Bible says women should NOT wear mens clothing (pants) are for men.

But when the OT laws re clothing were written trousers/pants hadn't even been thought of so how can they be considered as for men only?
Back then the men and women all wore long robes.

I don't go into bars looking to fool men or take them home with me--I'm straight. If they do approach me I tell them right away that I'm a guy. I don't walk like a girl and I certainly don't alter my voice to try and sound like one. My voice is way too low for that.=)

I've heard that the bible says men should dress like men and women like women, but I've also heard it's a mistranslation (deliberate or not) and can be interpreted to mean several things. It may have read "don't dress as a woman or something you're not to avoid your duty" meaning military duty or simply as "don't misrepresent yourself--be yourself". Has anyone heard anything along those lines? I think it would be really ridiculous if god got upset over who was wearing a dress or kilt and who was wearing mens boots and a woman's scarf. I think a god who created the universe would have more to worry about than crossdressing.

I guess you haven't really run into Native too much. She's literally insane.

btw, that "cross dressing" that's been condemned in the Bible was part of Pagan ritual worship. It's not the cross dressing that's condemned but the idol worship.

And as for comments saying straight men do not cross dress, well that's a total lie. One can easily Google the stats which prove not all men who cross dress are homosexual.

its not that straight men dont crossdress - its that they just dont do it for fun - other than a costume party, lost bet, theater, or some sexual needs. and thats what we likely have here.

people dont just do such things, alter their secondary sexual appearances and dress in public - "just for the fun" every couple of weeks unless there is a deeper reason. they are trying to get somehting out that they are otherwise not letting out, or ignoring altogether. for whatever reaosn this guy is getting off on this event, and its not just for the idle fun of it. thats his excuse, as he's not facing whatever it is...he needs this "release" for whatever reasons and its not for idle fun.

"Hmm what should I do tonight...got it! I'm gonna get dressed up as an ugly woman and see what takes place!"

there isnt anything fun about possibly putting oneself in what could be a very sticky (no innuendo meant) situation if he's not satisifying a deeper need...besides idle fun.(Why not wear his clothes inside out?)

I dont personally care, but than the guy wouldnt have posted unless he thought there was soemthing else going on. or hes a troll.

like I said, I've never have a problem telling the differences.

the bible says many things, not all are applicable, nor should be to reality in the 21st cent. and since we dont make the rules based on the bible, its sort of silly to think otherwise.
