Supreme Court to decide dispute over cross in Mojave

There are 9 comments on the www.onenewsnow.com story from Feb 25, 2009, titled Supreme Court to decide dispute over cross in Mojave. In it, www.onenewsnow.com reports that:

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case concerning an eight-foot-high cross in the Mojave Desert. The World War I memorial to veterans has been in California's Mojave National Preserve since 1934. Originally constructed of wood, a pipe cross was erected in the mid-1990s. But the American Civil Liberties Union and a former National Park Service employee filed suit nearly eight years ago because the cross is erected on federal property. They won the first round.

This is shit the ACLU does (whom I support) just to raise hackles which in turn raises money.

Of course it will remain. It's not like the 10 commandments which are not part of any religion but Judaism. Christians act like they can just forget the whole sabbath thing but Jewish law like their sister religion Islam (Cain and Able) strict as hell. The 10 commandments serve no purpose but to divide (which is pretty much true of some evangelicals, who have a form of godliness but deny the power by "helping" to make sure God's will is done. Go Republican Jesus.

Our bigoted country wants that cross to remain there for the next Matthew Shepard to be strapped to it.

I doubt cases such as these are moneymakers for the ACLU, as you suggest, although maybe such cases as these don't cause the extreme membership bleeding that defending Nazis who wished to march in Skokie did.

It's about principles. Marriage equality, opposition to state torture, capital punishment cases...all of these are decidedly unpopular efforts considering the ignorant feelings on the subjects of the Murican sheeple as a whole.

The substance of my post, you hom skooled, bigot-moron, was that the cases the ACLU tends to take are unpopular with the majority of the country. That's statistically valid.

However, even allowing for that, d.W.i. Bush and his junta so badly wrecked everything that the talibangelicals and constapo do find themselves somewhat on the outs compared to what they're used to. Praiz Jeebus!

BTW, no has said talibangelical fundies can't adopt, marry whom they wish, serve openly in the armed forces and be protected from arbitrary firing.(Yet.) So we know who the real bigots are, Cletus.

People with an agenda are useless and harm our nation, They see nothing but their own selfish wants and don't care who gets crushed in the process. I, quite frankly think you are full of shit and your hate has no logical explanation.

But I celebrate your right to say it.

"The World War I memorial to veterans has been in California's Mojave National Preserve since 1934. "

This tells me that:

1) Its been there a VERY long time and no one complained.

2) The SCOTUS hasnt had a problem with it for 75 years.

Yep, this stinks of agenda.

..... There is far too much about crosses, not enough about what Jesus was teaching, and how to make all those who think that they are Christians to obey Jesus' lifestyle and only his teachings. The only valid version of Christianity is the one by Jesus, and all others should be ignored.
