I'm guessing the "your" is the catch in your sentence. I would have to agree somewhat. Faith is a gift granted to the believer by God. Faith from the arminian viewpoint would be a matter of free will or choice, which then would become a work and one would be earning his salvation.

I'm of a more Calvinistic mind so I believe the faith is given by God. So the statement by grace through faith stands, it's just that the faith is given by God in order to fulfill His purpose of election rather than the faith being mans choice.

What part does free will play in the allocation of such faith?

Less than one would think. God has a predestined plan. We know how the whole thing will end because it is laid out in the book of revelation. All other prophecy has come true. Millions of choices are made each day. Changing a number of those choices one way or the other could impact major outcomes hundreds or thousands of years down the road. It is prideful for us to believe we have that kind of power over a destiny that God has already preordained. Our free will is limited inside those boundaries.

You appear to have the free will to use reply incorrectly.

Maybe I was predestined to reply incorrectly.
