Christians believe what God says. Is that ego or faith?
No, Xtians believe what they think God has said (past-tense very important) and what they think what he allegedly has said means. And of that they disagree on a great deal.

You have faith in a few things. 1. that what the bible says is really the word of this God. 2. that it was transcribed properly thru the ages. 3. that what the first interpreters said is right. 4. that the many that followed and added to those words (of the Bible) and meanings is right. 4. and now thousands of years later, that the newer meanings and added commentaries are still right 5. and that this God accepts all that, exactly in the same way as do you. 6 and this God is by decree of Human doctrine alone going to honor that thousand of years word-play and do exactly as YOU/others say he will do. 7. that he has no freedom to alter his course as HE sees fit.

Yeah, your faith is dependent upon a lot of Man-made Rules that this God must abide by...

Is that the Ego that says that a Supernatural being is NOT paying any attention to my pitiful wants...? Whereas your Ego tells you this God is hanging on your every word and need...?

Huh, my Ego wont allow me to think in such grandiose ways...while yours sure does elevate you to that special place where Gods pay you attention.

Then admit you do not know if the supernatural really exists or not. You are only guessing.
IF it exists it remains unproven and lies way outside our current abilities to discover. And as such isnt worth spending a whole lot time on...

If it exists, it will likely not "look" as we - well as Believers like you describe it.

Why convert atheists? They have their right to what they believe. I'm a theist but I don't see atheists as bad for their beliefs, nor do I think they need to be converted. The only ones we need address, because they create mega problems in the world, are the evil. Expose the evil and forget about the atheists.
this thread was not meant to be specifically about converting anyone. i have been told that because i dont believe in a god my world view was flawed and i want to find the flaw in my world view.

It's not possible to recover a reply if you lose it. The only way is to re-post. I tend to write all my replies in a text editor then cut and paste them into Topix. This makes it easier to spell check and proof read them.

It goes about what the French might name; “L'art de vivre”.
Personally I don’t think that any religion will give you the answer, it will rather make you more confused and troubled.
A demanding God with a confusing bundle of moral laws to fulfil isn’t a part of my dream world.
Good understanding and a pocket full of empathy is what we all need.

What is your belief? If you have put it in earlier posts tell me so I can look them up. No one has a right to tell you your world view is flawed. You are on your own journey as is everyone else and each has to tread our own path. But if you have doubts then it is right for you to ask others in your search.

Only people who are forcing a great number of emails or other sorts of communication are spammers. I am simply wanting to reach humane people who are interested in making their own discoveries to find the truth for themselves and thereby become empowered and enjoy good health, enjoy their life in general. I have a right and even a duty to inform my people, humane people about my findings.

"I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being." — Albert Einstein

Silver, read the whole of Romans chapter 1. This may help you. This explains, inPaul's words, the reasons for godlessness, amongst other things.

Btw Christians discuss, not convert. I for one dont force my views on anyone

Hi silver, there are a lot of atheists here. This forum seems to be a magnet for them. My view is that ppl have doubts about their atheism, so want to question or deconvert Christians. If u are secure in ur worldview u build others up, not pull them down

That is all you need and as you go through life you will modify it depending on what evidence you find. I agree with Pilgrim. If you feel secure in your belief then support those that are with you and who have doubts. If you are not secure then debate with those that are theists to test your beliefs. We all need to tests if we have doubts.
