People seem to be getting pretty upset by this thread. I assumed he was a kid, that's why I goaded him with the comment about being 12. Even if he was 12.5 I would have expected him to protest my 'accusation'. At that age, there's great pride with every passing day.

He's a 14yo with raging hormones who lashed out in anger for some reason. I have no idea what set him off, he never mentioned it, but something must have. I agree with Atheist that he needs some sort of stress relief.

Maybe this is a reflection on his parents, maybe not. It could very well be a phenomenon which is similar to homophobia. No, I don't mean he's gay, but maybe he's a closet atheist, is having a lot of trouble dealing with that realization, is surrounded by religious people and is desperately fighting against those feelings by lashing out at atheists as the 'cause' of the doubts he's having.

As far as him being an editor, eh, I don't care. My understanding is that an editor finds and publishes news items up here and that they can also publish their own writing. They have absolutely no control over anyone's posts in the forums.

If he were to publish some of the 'hate and anger' as an article in a forum, maybe then I'd complain, but for now, it's just childish comments.

I agree with that.. Interesting point about him being anger at Atheists, being trapped in a religious family,, he may be lashing out against it,, and using us as scapegoats,,,, As Usual..

As far as him being an editor..

since his is part of the Topix Admin, he should be held to a higher standard as in a way his actions reflect on Topix and it's advertisers..

Topix should be protecting it's readers from such vile insults, at the very least from a member of their own staff. Who knows what else he;s been saying on other threads.

Maybe interesting to do some further investigation...

I did get a reply back from Topix Admin (feedback) They said they would be looking into it... Lets see if they actually do anything about it...

Not much offends me,, but directing someone to "commit suicide" is offensive to me,, and it should be to everyone else...

Basically he's saying Either Accept god or Kill yourself ....

I'm the same way and basically, I view this as an empty, meaningless threat from a child. In my very short time up here, I've seen as bad or worse from adults (at least I think they're adults).

As for him being an editor, again, I guess I just don't see it as that big of a deal. To me it seems like it's a title given to people to make them feel important, while they do the work that keeps topix going. I'm sure they could drop him and never miss a beat, but in his role as editor, he basically just collects news items from the net and publishes there here, correct?

I understand what you're saying, and I can't tell anyone else that they shouldn't be offended. If it were an adult who understood the consequences better, I guess it'd be a different story.
He just has some growing up to do, or some issues to work through. Maybe he'll ask for help with them up here - ya never know...

Good Afternoon Christian Forum! I just all want you to know I have a tendency to "anger" a lot of people on controversial topics. And I really don't care. Without further a do I'm an atheist and I do have a life. I will say though those old classic religious paintings you find in art museums are very nice to look at the details and symbols are used in modern artists today. And I'd love to see the Sistine Chapel.Actually I'll be nice and not post my beliefs being this is a Christian forum and I really don't have to be here if I don't agree. Good afternoon. then.

Ok. I might as well. Hell it's nothing compared to what I expereinced in this old forum I had a lot of fun with. These were extreme religious freaks. I posted a comment on this girl who said how to raise a crook and I agreed with her on how kids are being raised the attitude and things like that except for the spiritual part she told me that GOD is the one and only right way. I stuck up for gay rights someone by the name of vengence went on a comment berating spree. It was the Hyden Forum from Kentucky Leslie County. I'm in Illinois I just post where I want. It was quite fun...That town is freaky.
