Everything you say, everything you have preached here over the many months, REEKS of RELIGION!

Please don't try to run the tiresome con by us that you have a "relationship," rather than a "religion."

Here is the A #1 Smart Ass known as stupid. Christianity is NOT a religion.

But you being the stupid idiot you are wouldn't know that. All you do is try to tear down.

So, please don't YOU try to run the tiresome con that Jesus is not God.

If you don't have a relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior, that is YOUR problem and no one elses.

Okay,so Xtianity is not Religion, but a relationship (lower case R).

Since relationships are personal - no two can ever be the same, and one person in one of them can not dictate the relationship between the two others who also know each other. Unless they are a control freak.

Wayne, do you control the relationships between two people you know, who also know each other? Do you dictate the rules of their relationship? DO you tell either of them how to behave with each other, what to do, when to do it, and how it should feel...?

Now we both know that Religions wish to control the relationship between their worshipers and another entity. They wish to tell their flock all the Whats and Hows of what it means, and also be the main conduit of contact. We can agree on that, right? And you resist that control, yes?(or at least you say you do)

So why do you keep on telling others how to have their personal relationship with this common friend of the both of you? Keep insisting on the What and the How's...?

Why is it that one Xtian is always telling the other Xtian/s How to have a relationship with their common friend?

You may not belong to a Religion (capital R) but you dictate things like a Religion. You act like the very ones you rail against. Especially the ones living in Rome.

PS. You follow a Religion. No other way to cut it. You defend a Religion and all that it means.

No. No matter how you cut it I do NOT follow a religion. I TRY to follow the Son of God, Jesus the Christ. THE LIVING GOD.

YOU on the other hand follow the dead end religion of SELF.

The bible. And why do you continue with this ruse? I have seen many postings of yours that reflects your complete dis-belief in the bible. Much like Nettie.

Wow, this is so true, Punisher.
I never have been able to separate or understand any difference in faith/church/religion/belief/C hristianity and your post here pretty much explains to me why.

It may be a cliche to some but it is true, that religion is man's attempt to reach and experience God by his own efforts and attain heaven by his own power.
Christianity is God reaching down to man and bridging the gap between us and the Infinite in the person of Christ and His provision of forgiveness on the cross. As we trust in what Jesus did for us we enter into a relationship that is fundamentally different than the definition of religion given.

There is a set of beliefs that come out of this of course and codified by many - coming from the Bible -- but this does not negate the truth of my first paragraphs.

To punisher ---

you said this:

__________

So I would assume your mom or dad probably gave you instructions on when to go to bed when you were growing up - gave you rules for being nice to your toys and siblings and had you eat your vegetables and maybe gave you chores to do -- and God forbid even had you look both ways before crossing the street and held your hand as a toddler etc. Imagine!!
They must have been control freaks wouldn't you say?

Personally, I prefer to take advantage of twenty-five hundred years of the application of the best minds on the planet over the opinions of ignorant, illiterate fundies. But that's just me.

God bless you.

Excuse me for intruding this discussion but the small children need the guidance from their parents; the problem comes when the more mature persons will continues this game just for the purpose of having control or being a victim.
I think you will now see this difference between what a necessity is and what abuse is.

Wear white at night. Don't forget that one. Now that the weather has turned I won't be walking to Mass until I get to Goodwill and find a white jacket that doesn't look to weird.

Where I live I occasionally see an elderly woman walking on the side of the road. Over her clothes she wears one of those reflective vests like the ones road workers wear.

Not a bad idea at all. Thank you. I'll keep an eye peeled for one.

The road workers come by here every couple years. Maybe I could trade a doobie for one.
