Funny how all those pre-Christian writers had no real concept of the afterlife.

Before the revelation of God the Son's resurrection, a Jew would have a completely different concept of redemption than a real Christian's dogma.

There is a afterlife through the resurrection.

John 5:28
Darby Translation (DARBY)
28 Wonder not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear his voice,

Acts 24:15
Darby Translation (DARBY)
15 having hope towards God, which they themselves also receive, that there is to be a resurrection both of just and unjust.

I challenge you to obey this commandment of Jesus Christ on this forum.

Matthew, Chapter 5, 39: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Yes, I agree about an afterlife through the resurrection.
That's one of the teachings revealed to us when God The Son visited mankind as Jesus.

The soul dies then it is brought back to life through the resurrection.

Romans 6:23
Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In the Bible, "soul" is translated from the Hebrew word ne'phesh and the Greek word psy-khe'. The Bible usage of these two words shows the soul to be a physical person or an animal or the life that a person or animal experiences. To many persons, however, "soul" means the immaterial or spirit part of a human being that survives the death of the physical body. Others understand it to be the principle life. These last two views however are NOT Bible based teachings. 1st Corinthians 15:45 and Genesis 2:7, proves that the "soul" is the person himself. The "soul" is not some invisible entity awaiting release from the death of a human. The scriptures are clear on that issue.

The scriptures say the soul can die at Ezekiel 18:4. Death is the opposite of life which is void of any kind of physical or mental activity (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10).
