When satan took Jesus up to the mountains and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and offered them to Jesus, he did this because they were his kingdoms which he had taken from Adam.
Here is the first lesson in scripture: Man used to rule over the earth, now he is ruled by it.
Genesis 3: 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

Jesus says that those who do not accept Him are the children of the devil, the things that he does they do the same. Ruled by satan.
John 8:44

No, your soul belongs to satan, until Jesus rescues it away. That is the purpose of the cross. No man comes to the father, except through Jesus. No one.
Jesus and the individual have ALL the power, unless an individual has given Satan power. Satan, on his own, is impotent.

An individual may, through their choices, end up in hell. Satan cannot condemn anyone to hell nor can he force a person into hell. He has NO power until an individual gives him power.

If you believe Satan has the power to snatch souls away from Christ, to condemn an individual to hell, or that Satan by default has power over an individual who has denied Satan power, then that may explain much about your approach and posts.

<quoted text>The devil is a murderer. Ezekiel 28:16 says that he was filled with violence. Knowing that Adam and Eve would die if they ate that fruit, the devil deceived them so that they would eat of it. He was a murderer from the beginning.
The devil wanted mankind's authority no matter what consequences it brought to mankind. He was self-focused. He wanted what he wanted and didn't give a care about those who had to suffer because of it. This is a powerful statement. All the millions of people that are dying around us are dying because of the devil's desire to steal something that belonged to Adam and Eve.
Since this dark power is so intent on profiting himself, do you really think he cares for you? Do you think he will allow you to steal his powers and privileges without gaining more from you? No.
Do you wish the death or anguish of others? Do you get real mad at people at times? Then the devil's spirit is in you. You might want to read more about the power of God's love.
I never implied Satan is innocent, nice, cares for any of us or has our best interest at heart. I simply refuse to ascribe powers to him he simply does not have. The devil has no power unless we give him power. Each of us must decide to give the devil power in our lives or to not give him power in our lives. Some choose to give him power, others refuse. I choose to not give him ANY power in my life. He cannot take from me what I refuse to give.

The people dying around us are dying because of our bad decisions and our choices to sin. Does the Devil try to deceive us and sway our decisions to sin? Of course he does, but ultimately who chooses to partake of those sins--us or the devil? Us. We are solely to blame for the state of the world and our own neighborhoods. Blaming the devil for our poor choices helps no one. If we accept responsibility for our actions, we can then begin to solve the problems. If we whine that "the devil did it" or "the devil made us do it", then the solution is out of our reach and will always be out of our reach.

When I get unjustly mad at someone, I do not blame the devil for it. I accept that *I* made a poor choice, I repent to God and the individual, and I try to make the situation right again. Blaming the devil for our poor choices is simply lazy and spiritually stunting.

The devil cannot dwell inside me. The Holy Spirit dwells there and it will not share me with the devil. Additionally, I will not invite the devil to dwell there. He cannot dwell where he is not welcome. Again, the devil is impotent until he is given power.

God bless you and yours.

But unlike Santa Monica or the Pacific Ocean, God is supposed to be everywhere, all powerful, and interested in what we do. Neither Santa Monica nor the Pacific Ocean have plans to torment us for all time in hell if we don't follow their rules.
So, what is your evidence hell exists?

<quoted text>Understand that eternal salvation is a very big gift, it trumps the gift of life and free will. God had watched as man continued to sin and reject Him. He watched as man took the grace they were given and give praise to false idols. He watched the chief priests corrupt the Jewish faith. Sin’s grip was (and still is) very deep into the world.
Romans 6:23 states:“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sin separates us from God and drives us closer to death rather than closer to salvation. The Jews at the time could not see just how much God loved them even in their sinful state. The only way to get through to them was to manifest in the flesh and ultimately sacrifice Himself to prove His love for man. He did not have to prove anything. If God would have just snapped His fingers and granted salvation, He would have been ignored because the people would not have believed.
The crucifixion was necessary because it was completely barbaric and dark. The manner in which one died while being crucified can draw a parallel to the damage sin can do to our lives over time. Jesus took this death as an innocent man to absorb sin and God’s wrath for it. The crucifixion truly showed the Jews just how harmful their sin really is.
When Jesus arose from the tomb, He solidified who He is. Doing such a thing would have convinced even the chief priests that God was truly in Him. There could be no more doubt about who Jesus was and the fact that His death paid the ransom of our sins.
Yet today, the debate rages on.
Why did Jesus have to die? Because in our stubbornness and impatience we lose sight of God and our trust in Him with it. Why the crucifixion? Because it showed just how barbaric and disgusting our sin truly is. To this day, people are still debating whether Jesus even existed and the reason for that is solely because man’s natural instinct is a “see to believe” approach. But rest assured, faith gives eyes to the heart and opens the mind to grasp beyond what we can see to the things we cannot.
Romans 3:25 sums up everything perfectly:“God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.”
We were not discussing salvation, but since you mentioned it, salvation is God's greatest gift to mankind.

We were discussing if Satan has any power without an individual giving him power. My assertion is Satan has absolutely no power in an individual's life unless that individual gives Satan power. I have stated Satan does not have the power to condemn anyone. Those condemned, condemn themselves. You have stated my view is wrong.

Have a great week.

Oh, I don't know about that. Compared to the biblical god old Nick was a paragon of virtue. According to the bible the only people Satan actually had killed were ten of Job's family and even that was with the blessing of the biblical god. As for working out the number of people killed by the biblical god, as recorded in the bible, how long have you got?
