What's Wrong With Polygamy?

Just as human beings are drawn to tribalism, cultism was a natural and inevitable offshoot.

All religions emerge from cults. A group of like-minded misfits that are 100% sure they have invented a better mousetrap. Before the evolution of what eventually became Christianity, the accepted religions were Paganism and Judaism. So fulfilling someone's translation of biblic
al prophesy, a under-educated carpenter, a whore and twelve outcast misfits start a new cult....Talking about a human God, which pisses the Jews off and a kingdom, which irritated the Roman Empire.....

All religion before and since are off-shoots of cults, Buddhism, Mormonism, Islam, Scientology, etc. Even polygamy has it's origins in the bible. Polygamy is interesting because like Mormonism, the men think they are eventually going to be Gods ruling their own planet. Each and every one of them believe that completely and mainstream America goes along with such nonsense, even seriously considering electing one of these nuts as president...yes of the United States.

The Mormon polygamist believes for each wife he has on Earth, each wife will be his Eve in another life on another planet. They believe they will be the only religion that will be able to enjoy sex in the after-life. Hey, I just report it, I don't make it up.

Seriously, consider the concept of polygamy. I know of no biblical reason why it can't be practiced, as long as all participants are of legal age and the leader has the financial means to support several wives. So why is polygamy illegal in the US? If it doesn't violate biblical law, as most laws are based, then why are we discriminating against their religion...even though it's a cult....and we've already covered that.

Well theres one glaring mistake in your post.

Its this line; "If it doesn't violate biblical law, as most laws are based, then why are we discriminating against their religion.."

"as most laws are based"...? You couldn't have said anything more wrong than that. Thereby defeating your entire point. Most laws? Care to share even a few of them?

While there is nothing inherently wrong with Polygamy, the issues with it are usually one of power and control and economic slavery.

The male is usually very much older (and dare I say creepy as hell) the female is usually very young (minors) and not old enough to legally enter a contract of any sort, they are usually betrothed (by her family) to the male and have no say in the process, they are usually sexually assaulted in the marriage (as in they dont want nor care to to have sex with any male, much less some older creep they were given to) and once impregnated, not once but several times they become economically bound to the point of indentured servitude...and to top it all off the females cant make, say or do anything of their own free-will.

And in this nation such control over others is illegal.

Kinda picky aren't you dude? I agree, I should have said "SOME." Is that better?....now you can write something worth reading about the subject of polygamy, if you can.

Why do trolls think anyone should waste time with their trolling ways...?

BTW, Thinking is an atheist.

The retard, is the one - You - who thinks they control the debate by out right dismissing the other POV's, and not debating them. Go back and address my Power and Control points...and maybe we can have a debate. Till then you're a Troll, or whatever the word/term dujour is for those who wish to incite and insult over actual discussion.

Plus, your disappearance on the subject/thread is telling as to how truly interested you are in any real discussion...

There's nothing wrong with polygamy.

Think about it: Guys cheat on their wives all of the time, some single men juggle 2-3-4 women at a time.So why not allow men to marry more than one woman?

I think it's sad that the sodomites can get married in some states but a polygamist can't!

Think of all the losers who would bleed your social security system dry were polygamy allowed.

Polygamy will be allowed when the numbers of Islam grow. Even now in Europe laws are changing to allow this.
