I read it as an 83% increase of people with no religious affiliation from 2001 to 2011.

Great news.

Just more fulfilled bible prophesies.

1 Timothy 4:1-3
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Your scripture would never say leaving your religion is a good idea because it is just anti-competitive self serving marketing BS.

The paranoia of your religion is obvious from the order in which the 9/10/11 commandments (depending on sect) are listed.

Is that it? Seems pretty vague. Where is the mention of the 83% increase in no religious affiliation from 2001 - 2011? The increased percentage of Muslims? Heck, where's the mention of the UK?

Just a thought. Maybe whomever wrote the passage about departing of faith, knew damn well that it was all BS, and that people would eventually figure it out.

It's not BS, it's been on the BBC news all through the day, and it's not an increase in any other belief, it's people who actually declared they believed in NO religion. The census asks a specific question regarding a persons religion, and atheism has gone ballistic in the last 10 yrs, I believe it's a direct response to the RC pedo scandals & extreme right wing politics of evangelists. it's totally turned people off the god myth. read it & weep godbots, the US is going the same way
I think you misread my last statement. The BS I was talking about was the writer of the scripture from which that passage came from. I think they know all along that their belief in Christ and a god was BS. Therefore it's easy to foresee future generations leaving the faith.

The census is correct, and people are turning away from their religious beliefs, and it's only going to accelerate.

I actually think the internet has a large part to play. People can ask the tough questions about their religion, without being being chastized for it from their parents and friends.

The internet, youtube, etc, has educated people. People are seeing that religion has NO good answers about biology, astrophysics, etc. The more people will begin to "see the light" and think rationally, and logicaly for the 1st time in their lives, the more non religious they become, and eventually see that a belief in God is completely irrational.

Once people like yourself are asked to the tough questions about what you believe you will find that what you belief cannot be supported by facts. Were already seeing this kind of thing with evolution. Evolutionists don't like being asked the hard questions either. They don't like talking about the origins of life or making predictions via evolution. They don't like talking about where the information for DNA first came from or how a mindless process can create molecular motors in cells.
Same goes for atheist. They don't like it when you tell them their lives have no ultimate meaning or that there is no foundation for morality.
Christians have been defending their faith for 2000 years. The arguments against it today have already been dealt with by others. Its the non-believers who are going to have the most difficult time.

Evidence? No? Then yet again you are merely stating your opinion from the position of your world view.
