I am a Christian, but I have a porn addiction that I cannot seem to control. I have a family and I pray that I can get over this but I keep going back to porn, it is destroying me inside. I dont know where to turn to. I am so afraid that I am removing myself from God because I keep looking at porn and I want to be right with him. Is there anyone out there who can help me, and words of wisdom, any simular experiences? I am desperate and feel like a hipocrite when I am in Church one day helping to lead service, then looking and masterbating to porn the next. Please someone help.

Here you go Brother, One first has to realize, it is a sin, plain and simple and God hates it. Secondly, it can be destructive to your family, yourself, especially your witness for Christ.
Thirdly, repent of this sin and know that God IS willing to help you out of this bondage....

At least you realize it is wrong to look at that vile garbage, and that is the Holy Spirit telling you to repent and pray, pray, pray. There IS victory in Christ.
Here is a link you might get some info from,
I hope this helps...

Every time you look at porn, think: "I am crucifying Jesus again!" Then think of Jesus on the cross, thirsty, and in pain, dying for your sins. Feel the nails being pounded into his hands as you masturbate. Then you can ask Jesus for forgiveness so you don't suffer eternity in the Lake of Fire, suffering at Satan's hands.

Little sick kids like you are why people shouldn't delve too far into their personal life on the WWW.

First off, you aren't alone. Lust is a powerful force and not to be taken lighlty. I struggled with the same thing for years so here is my suggestion.

When someone does that while watching porn they are lusting. Desiring someone you love is very different. I view all of God's creation as beauty. To lust after one of God's beautiful creations is not very loving. As Christ said, all commandments can be summed up as love. I suggest you pray for help.

Thank you all for your help, just knowing that there are people out that are compasionate towards what I consider is a vile sin helps me a lot. Thanks for the website some dude, and things for the kind words Edio and Nephilim. Everytime I fall back into that sin, I pray and ask for forgivness and think that I will stay strong and not go back to it, but I do, even when I know something is telling me not to. But God does great things and I know through him I can beat it. Its odd that you never know things like this will destroy you but they do.

Sorry,

Here's a bit different spin on this situation. First, recognize that shame and guilt usually fuel an addiction, not sinfulness. There is no sin in shame or guilt. So, stop exalting yourself as such a sinnner and start to become a more grounded human being. You are not being tested by God to see how much porn you look at or ma...ter..bate to.. God really doesn't care about that. God is more concerned that you are feeling seperate from someone or something. Next time the old porn urge hits, get up and go for a walk. You think God doesn't get the power of sexual energy and how big it is, after all, it is a power that creates life. So, when you get your I'm a jerk panties all in a bunch about yourself, stop being inward and go outward. Disregard all the sin crap. Only you know if it harms you or not. So, since you say it makes you feel bad, then go for a walk. If it stops you from going to work, taking care of your family, makes you kick the dog, etc., then investigate therapy. Prayer is great, but knowing when you need a life jacket or knowing when you need a lifeboat are two different things. Which do you need on this one?

I have checked back on this blog a few times today. You have been on my mind. Just so you know, you don't deserve any more shame from anyone who calls themselves a child of God. God doesn't shame you, show me one instance where God has come down, stood in front of you and shamed you. Only people shame you, both yourself and others who think they can advise you. Folks tend to throw that sin idea out there because of the thinngs they find disturbing to discuss, either in themselves or you. So, dear honest soul, take heart and go find an unbiased ear to tell your story to. Therapy is such a great friend to have. Just skip those moralizer therapists. You can do that to yourself just fine. My best thoughts go out to you so you can be comfortable in your own skin and so you know that God is a big boy and can take plenty good care of himself and he has better things to do than shame you. Like send you support through kind words from bloggers.

Your more than welcome, and remember what is written in 1 Corinthians
10:13: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man;

You are not alone, brother, I'll be praying for you. God bless

EVERYONE is a sinner. "There is none righteous, no, not one". "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory." But that's OK, for everyone who repents is graciously received by God.

Wow, I guess that is meant to motivate and comfort, huh! Like, that one hasn't been used over and over. Remember, no one is turned away from the Great Creator. That is a lie made up to scare people into false 'good' behavior.
