They are absolutes for believers. The whole law of God was summed up by Christ when He said-to love the Lord your God etc and your neighbor as yourself. The unbeliever cannot love God since he denies His existence.
What do you think it means to love your neighbor as yourself?
It pertains to loving yourself and all others. It has nothing to do with God. Unbelievers, like atheists, has percentages of people who do this which I would guess would be right around the same percentage of Christians who do this; love everyone as they love themselves.

If that person is truly repentant (sorry for what he did) and he believes Christ died for those sins and rose again then he will gain heaven. Keep in mind that he must be truly repentant and have trusted in Christ.
Seems like a cop out....the born again evangelical movement has been very careful to forgive republicans for their sins and condemn democrats, who are christians, for theirs.

Just too phoney. Why bother reading the bible? Sin, repent, accept Christ, sin, repent...if Christ doesn't make a difference in your behavior...what good is he?

Actually its the best news ever. Would you not want to be forgiven the thousands of sins you have committed over your life?

Christ does make a difference in people's lives who truly believe in Him.

1. That's not me stupid, but you can't ever keep your mouth shut and off me.

2. You've been ratted out and info is in hand and is going to be put to good use in the legal arena.

3. Your use of the internet to harass and stalk people online while being paid for by Indiana taxpayers solely for you to get off your dead arse and find a job is going to bite you in the arse.

4. The same with any other benefits you're abusing that enable you to sit there on your pimpled deadbeat arse libeling and harassing innocent people from behind a computer.

Your karma bill has come due.

I await the ones who make the claims I stated to come and expound on what they claim. So far, no takers.
Peace.
I seem to be the only one who has even attempted to be on topic "Christianity - yes or no" and I spent several hours on that post to get sites that held more credence. I did not attack anyone and stated my case from an "I" point of view.

And you want to walk by it without so much as a nod. Forget this!!

for this oft heard claim of Moral Absolutism...?
What are they and how are they absolute, and why?
Are the 10 commandments absolutes? Is there wiggle room in any of them?
Do it the right way - define terms, explain, don’t preach, when you use a B-quote explain why you're using it, define the terms therein when you think needed...explain your exceptions,(should there be any exceptions?) and why they are allowed...
Pretend you are being tested by Your God to convince him of your understanding of His morality. Pretend you are teaching an Alien who has asked you to explain why You think your Belief system is superior, has taken the mantle of THE Moral Arbiter, and why it should be such.
And for extra credit, explain (similarly) why it’s morally/ethically and logically acceptable for Him to not do as he says. Why is the Law Maker exempt? Is that truly a good model for anything/one?
HOUSE RULES;
1. ANY posts that merely run a list of Bible quotes are to be IGNORED! Everyone you read that clearly? If someone posts a laundry list of B-quotes we are to ignore them. Even if they include a small preamble – which is likely not to be explanatory in any real way.(Let’s look to Roman Rode Hard as example of such a post)
2. Don’t make shyte up. Don't make up claims, or rely on claims about other belief systems as to their basis, credibility, etc.
3. Don’t argue against another system to prove yours better. Argue yours!
3a. Do NOT compare and contrast belief systems. You may use another to use/borrow an idea. For example; Why the after-life of any other Religion is truly any different than Yours.
Any takers? Let me/us hear it, make the case. Treat it like you're talking to someone mostly new to this World.
LMAO I had to read it. This is just a excuse for self justification. The way you have this worded there IS no answer but what YOU want to hear. Here's a bible quote for ya you self centered asshole.

2 Timothy 3:1-

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

"I try to start threads to get out of the ones with discussions."
I just would like to see if we can at least start this thread ON TOPIC - and not go off it from the very start, and who a poster might have been, might have posted under other names is truly unimportant and off-topic. Its your silly agenda to bust posters. I dont care about it.
If you wish to post on topic, fine. Go ahead.
Oh cram it up your ass Punisher. There have been MANY threads where YOU go and go off topic and start with your ME ME ME bullshit.

Well, actually, if I believed in Christ and truly felt the Holy Spirit enter, I probably would AVOID making thousands of sins over my lifetime. This has always been an easy way for Born agains to forgive republicans for affairs and blast democrats (who could NOT be Christian) for their sins.

It once again demeans a god into just working for humans.
