I met a witch once.

Before then i had never seen him in my life, he sat down and after some talking i asked him to recite some of his poetry.

So, he recited some good old fashioned poetry about torture and dark things, but something strange happened.

I began to hallucinate, the witch was giving me an unwanted vision, the light grew dimmer and dimmer and he changed into this evil guy missing hair and teeth grinning at me, it was like dream actually.

And as soon as he stopped the vision ceased. I thought to myself "wtf did he do that for?" it was like an ape with magic powers walking up to you drunk and just starting stupid shyte with you for no reason.

Wow! What an arsehole! Now, what might be the correct punishment for such a thing do you think? And i wonder what else he had been doing with his pecial abilities?

do you think that he just wondered about drunk screwing with whomever he could?

I began that way myself though, but it's been long since i was that way, and i've taken more of my fair share of punishment. I wonder what his fate will be? probably the same thing as me.

Now if you'll excuse me im going to have some more coffee out my evil cup, there is literally a demon portrayed on it, but who cares at this point you know.

"During many ages there were witches. The Bible said so. The Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live. Therefore the Church, after eight hundred years, gathered up its halters, thumb-screws, and firebrands, and set about its holy work in earnest. She worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been." -- Mark Twain, "Bible Teaching and Religious Practice," (1923)

witch craft exists ..but it was never the churches role to kill them

That was done by big religious organizations that thought they are god Almighty and saw itself as law giver and judge and executioner..

like some fanatic Muslims that public murder people for effect, riding aeroplanes into buildings to execute the infidel....

The Christian congregation was told to repent of these things and not associate with such people and to put them out from among them..

But Babylon the Great went overboard to do the cruelty .

"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." - Exodus 22:18

It is estimated that between 50,000 and 100,000 people were burned as witches by self-righteous Christians following the command of their “God”.

Yes the Law covenant was in affect then..but a new covenant has been mediated by Jesus Christ..where Gods Laws are written in our hearts and minds, and they produce love...

Under the Law covenant , the wicked practitioners were stoned or destroyed by a justice system run by the Priests...

Today people are under rule of Law by governments, who put practitioner of wickedness to death...case in point ' Bundy'

a Christian however is not under Law but under grace...which means there is no Law against love...

Unbelievers deal with unbelievers.. a believer in Christ has been chosen by God to preach Gods mercy and forgiveness to the ones caught up in sin...and we leave vengeance to God.

because our God tells us " vengeance is mine says Jehovah."

The 50,000 to 100,000 people burned as witches were burned by self-righteous Christians who (just like you) knew exactly what “God” wanted and they did this during a time when government was controlled by Christians.

That's one of the main reason's we stopped allowing religion to control government.

"I have observed that the world has suffered far less from ignorance than from pretensions to knowledge. It is not skeptics or explorers but fanatics and ideologues who menace decency and progress. No agnostic ever burned anyone at the stake or torture." - Daniel J. Boorstin

You're speaking on the times of the Puritans in Massachusetts.
Back in those days,if you lit a match.
Even so,if a person was sewing a doll up you couldn't leave the needle in it because if someone saw it they would accuse you of witchcraft.
Back in those days, you had to be very careful of everything you say and do for fear that it may be interpreted as witchcraft and the community would rise up against you over every little thing or nothing at all.
Some even falsely accused people of witchcraft just so they can legally possess their land and property.

No, no, NO! Jesus did NOT replace the Mosaic law, how many times must we point that out to you?

Throughout the NT Jesus tells his disciples to adhere to the old laws:
"For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." (Matthew 5:18)

Has everything been accomplished? No. The Mosaic Law stands, and it's still incumbent upon Christians to execute witches, homosexuals, astrologers, spiritualists, women who aren't virgins on their wedding night, and women who don't (or can't) cry out when they are raped.

Christianity really should be abolished. It's disgusting.

The practice of witch burning did not originate with the Puritans in the American colonies they brought it with them from Europe.

The point is that people who have no doubt that they know “God’s” will and want very much to please “God” and go to heaven are capable of any atrocity against their fellow man whom they believe is “of the devil”.

“What can you say to a man who tells you he prefers obeying God rather than men, and that as a result he's certain he'll go to heaven if he cuts your throat?”- Voltaire

Didn't say Jesus did away with the Law..your words not mine..I said he inaugurated a new covenant , total different arrangement...

where God promises to write his Laws in our hearts and minds...

and we leave vengeance to God, for those who ignore it.

Didn't you know it is written in scripture , the new testament, that it is God who judges fornicators and adulterers..not the Christian..we just warn you that immoral sexual acts is wrong

And that we have a message of forgiveness and reconciliation through the blood of Christ

our message is of salvation in Jesus name....

Nope, wrong again.

But you raise an interesting point. Hebrews 8:7 says, "For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second."

If God's first covenant had flaws, then that renders God weak and ineffective.

The Christian faith is fraught with potholes, inconsistencies, absurdities, etc.

That's why the authors of the NT kept making the point that believers should have the minds of children: unquestioning, accepting, and easily tricked.

It's all right there in Scripture - the master plan was to take the poor and downtrodden, and even the stupid, and recruit them into this new faith. Even Jesus tells his disciples that they're dumb, that they don't get his point, etc.

Anyone who challenges him he calls a fool or tells them that they will be punished. And almost all of the apostles were low class and uneducated - and of course they were all men! Women were only fit to feed Jesus, or wash his feet, or anoint him.

The Bible is bunk, and Christianity is a sham.

Exodus was written long before the 13th century. The word “witch” is used in the KJV translation.

“The word ‘witch’ in Exodus is a translation of the Hebrew word ‘kashaph’ from the root meaning ‘to whisper.’ The word as used in Exodus probably thus meant ‘one who whispers a spell.’”- Douglas Linder

Regardless of the intended meaning of the verse from Exodus it provoked Christians to think that the killing of those they considered to be “in league with the devil” was pleasing to “God”.

If no laws, then how come American Xtians are always trying to outlaw stuff they dont like others doing? How come whenever there's someone/group you folks don't like its all about the laws of the Bible?

Chosen to preach? Now thats just absurd...and why Xtians are so often reviled for their evangelizing...you all think you're qualified to teach, I mean Preach...when most of you cant even summon a decent coherent fact based argument, much less teach...
