"This year, an estimated 1.5 million Americans will declare bankruptcy. Many people may chalk up that misfortune to overspending or a lavish lifestyle, but a new study suggests that more than 60 percent of people who go bankrupt are actually capsized by medical bills....'Unless you're a Warren Buffett or Bill Gates, you're one illness away from financial ruin in this country,' says lead author Steffie Woolhandler, M.D., of the Harvard Medical School, in Cambridge, Mass." - Theresa Tamkins CNN

"In the midst of a deep economic recession, America's health insurance companies increased their profits by 56 percent in 2009, a year that saw 2.7 million people lose their private coverage." - Emily Walker, ABC News

The old healthcare system based on insurances is insane; it serves only the rich and greedy!
A country with any kind of self respect has to have a health care system that serves everybody equally regardless of what economic potential they might have!
Those who are against the change are at least unchristian!

as to be expected from any solely-partisan FED-Bill, Mr Ironhart!
Here's some thoughts to contemplate on Obama-SCare:
Nancy Pelosi's infamous blurb ("We must pass ObamaCare first so we can find out what's in it!") is a big alligator hidden under the bog.... That gator's sure to bite us in the arss big time now, and in many ways; ... some of which are surfacing their ugly jaws as we speak!
"Affordable" insurance is defined as costing less than 8% of your annual income.
Come 2014, you must purchase insurance or pay a "penalty income tax". The first year the PIT is $95 or 1% of your income. In order for the program to work ideally everyone would have insurance resulting in affordable quality insurance for all (except the FED elite, who are exempted from ObamaCare!); the "PIT" tax helps offset the estimated 6 million people who will opt to pay the fine in the first year instead of buying insurance.
One of the big cons of ObamaCare is its huge negative affect on so many Americans who work for larger employers; many employees may have the new costs involved with insuring their workforce passed onto them. Other workers will see a decrease in quality of plans offered by employers, to avoid the employer paying a excise tax on high-end health insurance plans. The con of OC, also, is how it is bound to affect the unknown %- fraction of workers by cos that cut worker hours and benefits, and not hire new workers.
Since ObamaCare works on a sliding scale most low income Americans, especially those without insurance, will see nothing but benefits. Medicaid expansion will cover the many millions of previously uninsured low-income individuals and impoverished families.
There's a huge con in that couched-in-legaleze facet of ObamaCare for the low-income Americans; in that states will have the option of opting out of coverage for their poorest, despite 100% federal funding for the first year and 90% there after. To some states that opt to reject Medicaid Expansion it isn't just about saving money, it's actually a politically driven move to "break" ObamaCare. The opt-out is projected to leave millions of low-income Americans still dangling without coverage.

That's a taste of the surprises ahead for the USA; ... and,... OF COURSE, we can only imagine the huge (sure-to-come) BLACK MARKET of underground healthcare in store!
What deceptive webs the "PASS BEFORE WE KNOW" Obama Bomb is gonna weave,... ehh, Kids!!??... REMEMBER!,... The poor will stay poor and,... THE RICH???...
Duhh,... Well You know that old adage by heart,... I'm sure!... It'll be playing well here too,... you can bet on THAT!!
Hardie-Har-Har!
The main point is that every person has the same value when it comes to health.

It has to be seen in the perspective of how things are organized in other countries and the costs in US are more than twice as high as the OECD average, and then without an important group of people!

The quality of health care in European countries isn’t below US in general then that’s not a good point to mention!

Last week, the US House of Representatives approved a bill that would maintain the US government's funding levels until 15 November but strip funding from Mr Obama's health law, known as Obamacare.
On Friday the Senate passed a version of the bill with the defunding provision removed 54-44, largely on party lines.... Sen. Harry Reid said, "This is it, time is gone."
The House is now expected to take up that bill at the weekend. Unless the two chambers can come to a consensus and pass a bill for Mr Obama to sign, the federal government will close on 1 October.

It's a simple SSDD Republicans working for the rich and the radical right wing religious nuts..who don't want poor women to have birth control, screening for cancer and STDs. It's keeping the insurance companies making millions upon millions in government subsidies rather that being a market place business. It's blocking access to health care for those who truly need it.

And there's nothing the republicans can do to stop it....it goes into effect...with or without their defunding...and the great news is that many of the FORMER republican constituents, are switching sides to the democrats...so the gerry meandering has all been done in vain.

"It's remarkable how low America places in health care efficiency: among the 48 countries included in the Bloomberg study, the U.S. ranks 46th, outpacing just Serbia and Brazil. Once that sinks in, try this one on for size: the U.S. ranks worse than China, Algeria, and Iran.

But the sheer numbers are really what's humbling about this list: the U.S. ranks second in health care cost per capita ($8,608), only to be outspent by Switzerland ($9,121)-- which, for the record, boasts a top-10 health care system in terms of efficiency. Furthermore, the U.S. is tops in terms of health care cost relative to GDP, with 17.2 percent of the country's wealth spent on medical care for every American. In other words, the world's richest country spends more of its money on health care while getting less than almost every other nation in return." - The Huffington Post, By Kavitha A. Absolutely AMAZING that people in the US don't believe health care is a RIGHT and not a privilege for the rich..especially those calling themselves "Christians".

Well, to the last, NEVER vote in republicans until they clear out their radical wing nuts.

And the ACA will help keep costs down, as it has stopped the SPIKED increases in premium we saw under the Republican For Profit Healthcare.

It has been observed for a long, long time; this duality of the human brain, and we have it all, some of us more and some less.

On one side we believe in the possible and then on the other side we believe in the total nonsense; we believe in what is possible and the impossible at the same time, and seems to be comfortable with that, or ---?

It is in a way alarming that people are closing their eyes while praying?

And we are holding on to our beliefs, when challenged about what we believe, and then we will be even more determined to hold on to it until we will assumingly cash in some “reward” for it in the end.

It is of course evolution that made us this way; two conflicting attitudes that each and one of them serves different needs in our survival, but as we can se; not always that helpful.

Then we have this group thinking; my group, your group, their group and so on!
We are holding on to it like hell; this security of belonging to some group.
We are uncritically accepting a lot of things within our group just because we feel that we have to.
Groups have a selfish agenda; the purpose and will to grab from others and that serves well our own selfish attitudes.

It is a kind of “Fellowship of the Ring” that has to be destroyed before we can have a better world.
