There is nothing wrong with doing this daily with those in your local body. The thing here is, let's not return to legalism as stated in Col. 2: 16-23
Nothing wrong with legalism of God and following it. Man has redefined legalism to mean anything I dont like to do I just call it legalism and then I dont have to do so.

God demands obedience now and in times past.

Please tell me this has been taken care of by the pastor. Surely he would not ask for money on Sunday from people if this were the case.
To my knowledge, it has not been taken care of by Shannon. I don't know how he can stand before his congregation and make guests appearances knowing he owes this back tax from 2010 on his book. I can't wait until it makes the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and his satellite followers read it!!!!

When money is given to a Church by anyone it is given without condition. If money is given conditionally to a church then it is not actually given it is loaned, to be paid back in a form determined by the loaner. I don't mean repayment with money but rather repayment by doing the will of the loaner. If I were to give you a car but then said you can only use the car to drive me where I want to go, then have I really given you anything?
I don't know Mr. Price but if he is a believer then I'm sure he would be pleased to know that his money has helped to bring hundreds of new believers to Christ.
I believe that is stealing from God when we don't use the money and ability that he has given us to bring the lost, and help the least. I have been apart of churches that have lots of money and haven't baptised or helped a single person in years. Many members of Southside continue to attend BNC and love it. If your problem with Shannon is personal why do you smear him publically?
The way I look at it he has grown the membership of southside baptist since we are southside baptist church DBA Brand New Church.
Not only do you not know Dale Price, when it comes to South South you don't have a clue what you are talking about so rave on!

So glad I read all these posts while searching for information about BNC. My 3rd grade daughter brought home a small postcard type note about Wed night services at BNC and expressed an interest in attending. After reading the posts here she will definately NOT be going anywhere near BNC.

Curious Mother---
I am a parent of a 6th grader in the area. We have attended BNC for years, but now, due to my job, we attend another church in the area. I personally have no problems with the way things are done. I would be more than happy to speak with you personally, or direct you to a mother in the LR area that might be able to speak to your concerns. I know that the banter here can seem a little scary, but I do have to say that most of it is uncalled for, and does not build the Body of Christ in any way. If you are interested, you can e-mail me at ozarksaaron@yahoo.com.
Thank you for looking out for your kiddo.

Good for you! Being a Berean Christian is what we are susposed to be, checking the Scriptures daily being sure what is being said is true to them. If you look deeper, you will become more alarmed about many more issues.

Why doesn't O'Dell pay the taxes he owes the state of Arkansas for the books he has sold??/ By the way, the book doesn't tell all the truth about how he started his cult, BNC! He fails to mention he stole several hundred thousand dollars from Southside Baptist Church!~ Just another Jim Jones/Jim Bakker want a be!!!!! Fakes are on every corner!!

I knew Dale PRice well.......by the way, he died some time ago....suicide!!! He gave money to the Southside Church in memory of his mother. Shannon knew this church had been given this money when he applied and ask for the pastor's job. This was all part of his plan to get his hands on money......he is ALL ABOUT MONEY -nothing else!! He may have you fooled but believe me and others, he will answer to God and it won't be pretty!!!!

As a parent, I would warn you - double warn you - about anything connected with Shannon O'Dell. He is only interested in money and becoming another Jim Bakker. Nothing would suit him better than having a TV show and bringing in BIG money. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing......a DEVIL in disguise.

I have seen the tactics used by this "church" first hand, I live in the town of Farmington Arkansas where the newest campus of BNC is located. I have been friends with the campus "pastor" for most of my life. when shannon odell came to Farmington he recruited Jeremy from antoher church to go run his new campus and be a glorified janitor. the church had a "kick-off" party in the park and Odell was in attendance. The news paper asked jeremy some questions and he verbally blasted his old church and their pastor. I read the article the next morning and was shocked that Jeremy would say these things and I called and asked him if he was misquoted or was taken out of context and he told me that he was instructed by odell to say these things, and he told me with much sorrow in his voice. I also know that since then Jeremy has gone on to poach youth and young adults from other churches so my respect for him is in the cellar anyway.

When they say birds of a feather flock together, this is absolutely true. False prophets teaching on evolution instead of the rapture. God has to be so disgusted. Many will be called but few will be chosen. Hope the true Christians will see the light before it is too late.

I certainly hope every one notices how this teacher of his gospel is not being bothered by God? Ever notice how he seems to skate past things most people would be prosecuted for?

I know the Bible warns that we will be accused and sought after by the world, because their issue is with God; whom we are children of and fellow heirs with His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our only true Lord and Savior. He says He chastises His own for wrong doing, correct?

Here's the question. If God is not chastising him for his willing defiance to the government he was commanded to be submissive to, in Christ, nor for the wrongs he has done financially, is has he done wrong? Is he Christ's?

He is not being sought after by the evil one because he skirts all the things he should be prosecuted for. He has to be at peace with the evil one for him to continue in his direction.

Ever notice how he uses Scripture to point at himself and his agenda instead of the deeper meaning found in these same words according to how they were intended to be interpreted? He is spoken of in the Bible with respect to the end time church true, but in what context?

We need to remain in Christ with His words embedded in our heart; diligently seek Him with the fervency He speaks of in His admonitions to remain faithful to our calling in Him till the end. There will be a culling at that time and only Jesus can do this. Therefore, my brothers, remain focused on the Lordship Of Jesus and learn to walk according to His instructions on how His followers shall live.

BNC is about to come full circle. BNC Bergman members are leaving BNC in droves to a reformed church called Woodland in Harrison. Woodland's entire staff were formerly at BNC under Shannon Odell. Shannon Odell has NONE of the staff left that he began with at BNC. BNC's weekly attendance has been reduced to what it was when he came to Southside. The satellite churches have never had a loyal following. It is all coming down in a crashing FAIL.

It's a sad deal too. Odell has burnt too many bridges and the only way BNC can be saved, if it's worth saving, is for him to leave. He may have no choice, yet I digress.

Transforming Church in Rural America needs to be rereleased with a new chapter. If you follow this book, you'll have quick success followed by sudden downfall.

[Many of us might find it hard, in this "economic climate" to tithe properly. I find that although my meager 250/month may not make a big difference on the balance sheets, It makes a giant difference in my life. What a small price to ask for ALL that the LORD has given us. At time, adding humor and challenging us is a great way to stimulate a congregation.. There is much work to be done.. Bring the tenth and be proud. Antenna tv,old car, cheap haircut all say we tithe and are proud. I do put my money where my faith is and am sooo blessed for it.
