Greetings all,

I hope that you are doing fine today. I am doing fine.

Well, I'm still not a Christian but I'm still reading the New Testament to examine what it says...here's another contradiction that I found. If your Christianity works for you I hope that I do not disturb your success in your religion, but I just find issues like this interesting. Anyway (lol) here is the contradiction that I found:

MATTHEW 11:13-14: "(13)For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.(14)And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come."

JOHN 1:19-21: "(19)And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?(20)And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.(21)And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No."

The first passage says that John the Baptist is Elias (or Elijah,) and the second passage says that he is not.

Either this man "filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb" (Luke 1:15) is a *liar* or something is wrong with the Bible lol. Christians, which one is it?...

Peace & Blessings to you,
nunnies

apologetics relies on philosophical arguments because they have no credible facts..
The legal nuance of apologetics was reframed in a more specific sense to refer to the study of the defense of a doctrine or belief. In this context it most commonly refers to philosophical reconciliation. Religious apologetics is the effort to show that the preferred faith is not irrational, that believing in it is not against human reason, and that in fact the religion contains values and promotes ways of life more in accord with human nature than other faiths or beliefs.
We are discussing scripture here...what does "encyclopedia and science" have to do with it? Not a damn thing...I look to the experts, not a ninny like you...

If you are referring to CARM, in some people's books you look to the shítheads.

Peace,

If you meant me by, "...he/she is a Muslim salesperson," I am NOT a Muslim. I'm not a Muslim, Christian, nor Jew. And I am a he.

I can say even though I am NOT a Muslim that I have read that many translations of the Qur'an are inaccurate and poisonous in their translations. I have read that the best and most accurate translation of the Qur'an is the Maulana Muhammad Ali translation.

Peace,

Hi Nick,

Here's a link to the CARM list of writers.

If these yokels are theologians than I'm the Pope; and I'm not the Pope. I'm the 15th Dalai Lama.

Best wishes.

Ndanger is your basic m0r0n...the real issue is who is more stupid, dollarsbill or him....this is a real dilemma ....
All in all, Nick is a pretty good egg. Despite his occasional moronic interludes he's got a sense of humor and that counts for a lot.

Jesus was not teaching that John the Baptist was literally Elijah; rather, that John came in the spirit and power of Elijah (Luke 1:17), in that he was sent to continue Elijah's prophetic ministry. Also, Jesus was obviously aware that He was speaking about John the Baptist since Elijah appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:10-13). Also, since John the Baptist had already lived and died by then, and since Elijah still had the same name, self-consciousness (as in self-awareness of who he was), it's obvious that Elijah wasn't reincarnated as John the Baptist. Also, Elijah was taken to heaven like Enoch, which means he did not die. Therefore, he does not fit the reincarnation model, as in order to be reincarnated, one must die first. But clearly, the New Testament does not teach that John the Baptist is the reincarnation of Elijah. lol!
