Hello, I know I'm new here but I thought I'd take some time and tell you all about a wonderful Christian organization called Computers For Christ USA. Computers For Christ USA provides computer equipment and internet access to needy Christian churches, schools, families and single parents all across the USA who would otherwise not be able to afford it and bring more Christians to the web (and to your lovely forum :)).
We depend on charitable Christians such as yourself to keep our organization going and sincerely appreciate all who help us. If you would like some more information, please visit our website at http://www.computersforchristusa.org Thank you and God Bless! |

We are already organized and don't need worldy things to do the job that Christ Jesus has set us forth to do. Preach the Gospel and occupy till He comes plus the fellowship together.

I'll have to admit...Computers and the internet can be a two edged sword sometimes.
We had a young divorced lady member in our church that purchased one about 10 years ago. She wound up chatting with an ungodly man from Canada and wound up making the trip to see him for sex. Her spiritual life spiraled downhill after that and even though she repented of her ways some time later...She has never been the same person since then. |

I have to admit that my first thought is that if someone is needy then a computer wouldn't be at the top of my list of things to donate.

I would have to say it depends upon the christian receiving the computer. To be honest with you all, I would prefer to see more deeply mature christians online...but unfortunately many of them are poor. There are enough know it alls publishing and raking in the millions upon millions of dollars for their false teachings...I happen to know for a fact that many poorer brothers and sisters out there who can't afford pc's, or can only afford one pc, would be a BIG benefit to Christ by being able to get online and share more of what God is sharing with them. The HUGEST thing that we christians can share is SPIRITUAL FOOD. Spiritual food is MAINLY the written word, accompanied by God's Holy Spirit to help in the understanding.
It entirely depends on the person/christian. |

And personally, I would want a/another computer before my other needs were met, because that computer can be used GREATLY as a tool for God's glory in ministering online. I find that the ones being promoted nowadays really are not called by God to be teaching/preaching the things that they are..but are rather promoting their own vain ideas, or their get rich quick schemes...they are the ones loaded to the teeth with computers and any other thing they need to get the job done. I PRAY RIGHT NOW FOR COMPUTERS/LAPTOPS TO BE PUT INTO THE HANDS OF TRULY CALLED SERVANTS OF THE LORD, THAT GOD IS RAISING UP TO HAVE THEM...AND TO BE KEPT FROM THE TEMPTATIONS OF THE EVIL ONE, in Jesus name, amen.

CFC,
My husband and I used to live in Kansas City area...I moved there after leaving a lifestyle of drugs/fornication...then I met my husband...and I haven't looked back...it's been 14 years ago. (looked back=not going back to my former ways, except for a few given into temptations, which I overcame, thank GOD).(and I have been ABSOLUTELY faithful to dear hubby!...no questioning ANYTHING there, he is my MUCH better half!)... His Daddy planted a church in Belton. He died in 76 or early 77, not sure which, I do know that Mel was 11 when it happened. When I moved to the KC area from the St. Louis area, I lived in the outskirts of Kearney for awhile with my Aunt who discipled me. Then, I moved to Liberty. At the time, Mel lived in Lawson...when we got married, it was right after his Mom died. We lived in Lawson for a little while, then moved to Liberty...then we moved to Florida for a spell, then moved back to the St. Louis area... Isn't GOD good? I do sincerely HOPE you are not feeling condemned for attempting to do something GOOD. It's not wrong for christians to give advice/convictions, but condemnation is from the enemy...so if you are feeling a bit condemned, reject that. I know the sheeple here(except American, this was my first time seeing him in a thread here), and they would tell you the same. God bless you, and I hope you continue coming! Kim |

The Meaning 0f Jihad Explained...
In Arabic, Jihad means "strive" or "struggle". jihad : derived from the Arabic root word of jahada, jihad means to strive one's utmost to achieve something good. The first and foremost jihad is against one's own carnal desires and sinful temptations. There is also jihad against a tyrant ruler or oppressor. The jihad of the latter kind is defensive in nature and can only be called by a legal Islamic authority. The term Holy War does not apply to jihad as it cannot be found anywhere in Islamic history. Therefore, Holy War should not be used to describe jihad. In the West, the word is generally understood to mean "holy war," and the terms are given, inaccurately. |
