Bingo... and surely not how it was used/translated in the bible.

Agreed I am being honest in this situation. I wish you would follow suit but if not then no.
Who took a quote out of context? I believe that would be you.

Que? Why dont you ever answer questions? Who said that?
Joshua 10:12-13
King James Version (KJV)
12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:

“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.

Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

Its misinformation. Regardless who said it. The Sun does not go around the earth.

The "inspiration" when it was wrote should have clarified that.

I thought the bible was accurate and contained knowledge... you know because people use it to argue against science.

Also,
God is nothing compared to chariots of iron

Judges 1:19
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

@ Pun... Im not going to reply to all those posts. If you wanna come in and jump in answer this question since 10 keeps avoiding it.

Im speaking of here in america of course. Also, just "leaving" the system isnt a viable option dont you think? When people have friends families, activities, hobbies and such currently residing in the system. But dont worry we can get into all of this if you want just answer the question in the quote since 10 has been dodging it like dodgeball lol
Leaving the system...? I never mentioned leaving the system...I'm just not accepting what you're implying about The System. Till you define some terms, to better understand the direction you wish to take the conversation. And if I wish to go there with you.

And for the record, your use of the dodge-ball analogy is yet another of your lame ones. One of the tactics, legitimate tactics in a game of dodge-ball is to avoid being hit by the ball, to dodge the ball. The other is of course to catch it. Which is what I and the other poster have been doing.

I dont think anyone avoided the Q, they simply have not made your point for you. And neither shall I. You're being duplicitous and think a general "Yes" - somehow gives you a win on all the points raised by this slavery to the system issue. By relying on "the system" - of which there are systems within systems - no one is a slave to it, in the manner in which we all define slavery.
Dodge-ball involves throwing the ball back at the other team - which is what I'm doing here...after catching it of course.
BTW, we all just jump-in, its a Q of whether you misread the game, like many posters do. I have not.
Still no answer to my question. Adios Pun lol

Please go to the post where I said there were not slaves in the bible.

----->>>> What I DID say is that YOU are a slave to the system.

Which is why you're avoiding questions posed to you lol. Oh yea pick the ONE thing out my quote to focus on. REAL HONEST lol. At the end of the day there are MANY things that force people to remain in a system meant to oppress. We can go on and on but you avoid questions posed to you. So whats the point? NONE.
Prove that "slave to the system" accusation. Followed with why it would cause the slave to avoid certain questions.

We're not guessing at your correlation, we already know what it is and we're saying it stinks. You're the one creating the impasse and locking this down...not us.

If you caught the ball you would have answered my question. Then threw the ball would have been you throwing the ball back. You and the other poster have not done that. You have avoided the question but I cant say Im surprised. You do this quite frequently in the convos I've personally had with you lol

Oh yea, the other guy said something about leaving. I never said you did. But as I said my question remains unanswered AS USUAL. Therefore, ADIOS Mr. Pun :)

<quoted text>You're saying this without defining it. What exactly is the system, what exactly is a slave in said system and how exactly do you know everyone - everyone - is a slave, and if so, are there gradations of slaves...? etc, etc...
You're also offering up a very big idea (implying) that THE SYSTEM has a conscious mind and is actively initiating processes that actively and intentionally oppress-enslave people for The Systems personal end-game. All of which you are not divulging, defining, explaining, etc, etc...
You sound like any of the dime a dozen conspiracists "out there" who make grand claims and even bigger assumptions and never, ever define, and/or explain their basis for making them.
If at the end of the day Mr. XXX owes money on a credit card, and the end results is that he pays $100 for a 50 dollar item (due to interest) and you want to call that slavery - you can. But does it endure a test of analysis, etc ? Probably not. Sure we can call that slavery, but its only in very narrow, mostly slang sort of way.
Were YOU to sit at formal debate table and the topic was human slavery as understood in the Biblical era, and you then went on about this "slavery to the system" today - all without defining terms - you would be shut down by the moderator. End of story.
Either put up or shut up. Expound on your terms, or stop trying to manipulate the convo towards to your narrow end-game.
I was counting almost got to 30 and still didnt see an answer to my question. It seems you LOVE to type long paragraphs lol. Especially when said paragraphs doesnt answer the FIRST question posed to you in this thread. OH well as I said ADIOS

What did you do in post 91?

And I am not avoiding your question. You just don't like my answers.

Jews owned slaves in the bible. It was not condemned. That's the point I made. If you are not arguing against it I fail to see your point at all.

Being able to buy an SUV or take a loan out on a house is not the same as being sold to another man and having little to no freedom.

Being a citizen and earning your keep is not being a slave.... because you have the option of how you earn your keep. A slave does as he is told by his master... who is another human being.

Also,
God is nothing compared to chariots of iron

Judges 1:19
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
