There will be MANY in Hell who don't believe in Hell.

Matthew 18:9 (Darby)
9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast [it] from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life one-eyed,[rather] than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

Nowhere in the Bible does 'death' mean 'cease to exist'.

Rev 20 They shall be tormented day and night FOREVER.

How do you get that out of this:

Matthew 18:9 (Darby)
9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast [it] from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life one-eyed,[rather] than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

I believe condemnation is thrown around here way too much. However, IMO your Romans 6:7 verse does not refer to the final death of our bodies. It is referring to dying to ourselves, as Christ did, prior to our baptism. During our baptism, we go into the water as a symbolic death (crucifixion), and rise anew (in the resurrection.)

Romans 6:1-9

King James Version (KJV)

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

God bless you and yours.

Since you prefer Darby. IMO, it states we serve before we die, but after we accept Christ we should no longer serve sin. It is paralleling the conversion from not following Christ to following Christ to Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. BUT, I have never a Darby version before, so I am no expert by any means :).

Romans 6:5-10

5 For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;

6 knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.

7 For he that has died is justified from sin.

8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,

9 knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.

10 For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.

Both the grave and hell are called "the pit". Going to hell does mean ultimate death. It's not physical torture but it is mental terror. All sin is conceived of in the mind before being acted upon. Eventually, your spirit will be snuffed out (drowned) and you will cease to exist. Hell isn't forever except for Satan. He has committed all seven of the deadly sins and is the chief among sinners. I don't know why Paul claims this title.

Liar, this is for the devil and his false prophet. O-evil liar of false witness you are.

Rev 20:10 Then the Devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Your illiteracy is haunting your mind.

'everlasting punishment''everlasting fire'

Matthew 25:41-46 (NKJV)
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand,'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the EVERLASTING fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
46 And these will go away into EVERLASTING punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

Don't be such a spoilsport. The thought of people suffering pain and torment for all eternity gives crazy old dollarsbill a woody. You wouldn't want to deny him the only pleasure he has would you?

You are correct, the wicked will perish in the lake of fire. Only the Devil and his angels will burn for all eternity.

why are you so obsessed with people being tormented?

Remember revelation talks symbolicly.
