<quoted text>Sure we can, we are only limited by the speed of light. More correctly, the speed of information. Close to us c is a tiny consideration, so we see how things are. When we look far, though we are seeing the past, things act the same way.
Here is another assumption of science: the speed of light is the same throughout the universe throughout history.

Fortunately that assumption is backed by evidence.

The evidence itself is an assumption. There is no way to know with certainty that the speed of light is the same as it is here as it is on the back side of the Andromeda galaxy. We can only assume it is.

Wayne needs to catalogue 30000+ Oort cloud objects. One for every baptist sect.

Look at the bright side, Wayne. If they called every big rock with a highly elliptical orbit a planet the little hillbillies would have to list dozens of planets and since little hillbillies can't count past eight anyway it's all for the better.

The velocity of light is the same a billion light-years away, therefore it was the same a billion years ago...get it. Try working the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, your nutty thoughts may gain small purchase there.

That time "passes" the same way in the distant past as it does today. It assumes the laws of nature in the past are the same today.

Jeff she is another that is just dumb and only tries to collect information on posters so she can have them fired from jobs. Please keep that in mind when she posts a link. She has a very long history of doing that on 100's of forums.

I don't dismiss the bible, just the people that take it literally. You're right about the bible being written by man (not men by the way) inspired by what they then understood God to be. We know so much more now that the God they envisioned is obsolete. The bible still holds great value though.

There's also the assumption that yesterday actually existed but you can't prove it.

Spoken like a true philosopher. Much appreciated by me. I've been trying to figure out the nature of reality. I think that would be a rhetorical inquiry by my inquiring self.

You Mr. Wizard types just can't accept the fact that science has blown it over and over. Pluto WAS a planet before it wasn't. lol Maybe it wasn't beofre it WAS?

The only thing scientists have going for them is they are ALLOWED to screw up because they are actually proud that the do not know anything.

You seem to hate science. Do you live in a cave? If you don't, you are a hypocrite. Everyone is allowed to screw up because everyone does. I hope you get some juicy bland rats and snakes for supper tonight. God will provide you with the biggest roaches you've ever eaten.

God is the same as He was when those men wrote the bible by HIS inspiration,,NOT by what they thought of Him to be. He ordered those massacres and ordered those nations cut down. God will NOT tolerate sin and idolatry. Then, God came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to save those who would be saved. After this, He will return again in judgment and vengeance and will once again be the God of the Old Testament. Those who will not accept Him He will finally destroy them asunder. They, and sin, will NEVER exist again.
