After dealing with a Bible thumper spreading his homosexual hate speech at the beach today, I'm trying to come out with a 'brochure' on what the Bible really says about homosexuality.

Basically, IMHO, the gist is:

S&G: Attempted gang rape

Leviticus:'Toeyvah' meaning a ritual impurity and 'as with' means 'bed'.

Corinthians: Paul never said 'sex between men' but said 'soft' and 'male bed'; It used to condemn masturbation less than a hundred years ago; The heterosexual male was the 'effeminate' male

Romans: Pagan idolatry

If anyone can help please assist. Me can make cool brochure no problemo but me english/writing skills kinda lag.

So far it's just this:

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womakind: it is abomination.

"V'et zachar lo tishkav mishk'vey eeshah toeyvah hee."
And with a male thou shalt not lie down in beds of a woman; it is an abomination.

- The Hebrew word mishk’vey, translated to “as with”, means “bed” every other time it’s used in Leviticus and Leviticus 15 gives a long list of bed issues. The Hebrew word translated to abomination,“toeyvah”,

The Greek Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Scriptures (circa 3rd century BCE) translated "to'ebah " into Greek as "bdelygma," which meant ritual impurity.

btw, if everyone could please ignore the trolls... 9/10'ths of threads are bitching and it'd help if this was devoid of their homosexual hate speech.

Also, I'd like to highlight pro-gay aspects of the Bible:

1) David & Jonathan, Ruth & Naomi, Daniel and Ashpenaz

2) Jesus mention homosexuals as "born eunuchs"

3) Jesus saying of the homosexual, the Roman Centurion, "Never have I seen faith greater than this."

Respectfully, that is not true; it's hogwash.

It is you and Fred Phelps and your ilk that have the homosexual agenda. You have more in common with the Mormons and the Magic Book than you do with Christianity.

Learn the difference between verifiable facts and opinions.

For example:

If I say the Hebrew word translated to 'as with' means 'bed' every other time it's used in Leviticus this is a VERIFIABLE FACT.

Another example,

Let's say I say "The Greek Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Scriptures (circa 3rd century BCE) translated "to'ebah " into Greek as "bdelygma, " which meant ritual impurity."

--- This is a VERIFIABLE FACT. I am over dealing with you uneducated bigots who don't have a real education and therefor, I'm assuming, can't tell the difference between verifiable facts and your biased fiction.

Hey CCRider, you know I love you more than I've ever loved any lover so can we just keep kissing and crying in each other's arms til I just can't take it anymore and then later, when it's just you and me, I'm going to get fully nude in front of you and give you everything I have.

Sounds pretty f'n gay to me...

read [ROMANS CHAPTER 1] GOD got tired of all the sin; people was having un-natural desires; men with men; women with women. read it for yourself.GOD gave them over to a reprobate mind.

I am not biblical illiterate. I study the bible in Greek and in Hebrew...you cannot fool me..but you can fool the general public because they may not check out what you are saying.

As I said...repeat the lie enough times and people will begin to believe it.

I prove you wrong months ago...I am going to save it this time and have it handy every time I see you post your lie.

Unverifiable facts, so that makes them lies. This right here is my problem with you Mike, not the fact that you are Gay, that's between you and God. You have the same mentality as some others around here if your not for me you are against me don't you?

I have read Romans and it's a letter about idolatry.

btw, is this Wayne or N2 because "reprobate" is one of their words...

N2?

Um, OK, so now you know about the Greek and Hebrew. Would you mind explaining how "as with" means 'bed' every other time it's used in Leviticus? Would you mind explaining why Paul didn't use a Greek term to describe "sex between men" if that's what he meant?

btw, if you proved me wrong months ago you should easily be able to do it again in .002 seconds or less.

Oh, so your problem isn't with me being a homosexual but me trying to say God doesn't condemn homosexuals??? Oh, so as long as God has a problem with it you don't feel the 'need' to hate homosexuals yourself.

You're a fraud.

Sorry, but I already gave you a link to a college thesis on born eunuchs being homosexuals and anyone who's seen Sparticus can guess what this young male slave meant to this soldier. It's also a verifiable fact 'pais' was the younger male love in a gay relationship.

hucydides writes of Agathon, 445-400 BC, the pais, same sex lover of Pausanias, King of Sparta, in History of the Peloponnesian War. Their relationship began when Agathon was 18 and continued for twenty years.

Eupolis, a playwright, 446-411 BC, references Agathon, an exceptionally good-looking man who, in his late teens, was the paidika or pais of Pausanias. Their same sex relationship continued to flourish when Agathon was in his thirties.

Aeschines, 390-314 BC, Athenian poet, in Against Timarchos, charged rival politician Timarchos with having lived off his relationships with older men. In such relationships, the older man was called the erastes or the lover, and the younger man was called the eromenos or paidika or pais, the boyfriend. Paidika is derived from pais.

Nope just the fact that you try to use the Bible to justify yourself.

Hi McMick

Its natural for a person in bondage to any Sin not to see it as Sin
And when you try to see it as seen and try stop that Sin. You will fail to overcome that Sin. Because you are trying to do it in your own will power.
Focus on romans 8 and this will tell you this.
Then focus on romans 9
When you get to romans 9:16 paul says. It is not for him that willeth or runneth. But for God to show mercy.
You hand the problem to God in prayer. He is the creator. God is the potter you are the clay. God has to do the work in you with his grace and power. Its not trying its Trust faith in God to do it.
When it happens. God gets the glory not you.

I applaud your tenacity...and the idea for the Brochure, etc is a good one.

but your battle isnt trulywith these folks...they are just stuck in their centuries of doctrines...and that a harder battle to win. Imagine if a Luther or a Calvin showed up today, with similar tweaks to the status quo...? they;d be laughed at and scorned -like any other current scholar, amateur or not who points to the discrepancies, the leaks, the patches, etc...in the centuries of xtian debate over Right Reading (the Doctrine of Right REading as I call it. DoRR) of the bible.

modern xtians are drowning in the past, what they think they thought up on their own - was done by others for centuries. and you'll split a gut trying to convince them that the Perspicuity of Scripture isnt the absolute truth...

Good luck, I always read and digest your posts...I and others know the debates in the higher levels of bible study are still waging...its the pew-sitters who rarely if ever get a glimpse into that world...nor care to...as they too would burn those folks at the stake too...

their "facts" are what they've been told by agenda laden preachers and the like to use to keep the Devil at bay...your facts are in deed facts, but the truth of them are so threatening, that youre always going to be waging your battle on the downside of the hill...and doctrine no longer has the wiggle room it once did...as the modern xtian is content to languish as they wait for the rapture, etc...there are no truly great xtian minds anymore...the best they've conjured is the "prosperity doctrines"...the rest are all nostalgic cherry pickers, who regurgitate old ideas based on an ancient understanding of the natural world...

IMO, they'd be burned at the stake if they were to travel back in time and present their Doctrines (as they understand their mixed bag of them) to their predecessors...
