I firmly believe science will grow back missing human limbs long before religion does.

***The chicken or the egg causality dilemma is commonly stated as "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" To ancient philosophers, the question about the first chicken or egg also evoked the questions of how life and the universe in general began.[1]
Cultural references to the Chicken and Egg intend to point out the futility of identifying the first case of a circular cause and consequence. It could be considered that in this approach lies the most fundamental nature of the question. A literal answer is somewhat obvious, as egg-laying species pre-date the existence of chickens. However, the metaphorical view sets a metaphysical ground to the dilemma. To better understand its metaphorical meaning, the question could be reformulated as: "Which came first, X that can't come without Y, or Y that can't come without X?"

Regardless of the name of the chicken, what ever it is came before the egg.

Proof at last? How much money has been spent on proving what we already knew? Believe they have cracked the answer? LOL... that means they are still wasting money testing their theories, doesn't it? And people are starving.
So, no actual science? That's cute.

***Scientist: We Have Proof That The Chicken Came Before The Egg

"It had long been suspected that the egg came first, but now we have the scientific proof that shows that in fact the chicken came first," says Dr. Colin Freeman, from Sheffield University. Here's the explanation. Updated.

When scientists from Sheffield University and Warwick University used a supercomputer called HECToR to take a close look at egg shells, they discovered that a protein "called ovocledidin-17 (OC-17) acts as a catalyst to speed up the development of the shell." They realized that this protein is crucial to actually forming an egg shell. They also realized that this protein is found in a chicken's ovaries. Based on this, these scientists decided that the chicken must have come before the egg.

They just fail to explain where the chicken came from in the first place.

You're so stupid. Look, the chicken, at some point, did not exist. At least, not as what we'd classify as a chicken. But, the ancestors of the chicken did exist, and they laid eggs already. So, when a population of those ancestors separated from the rest and experienced different environmental pressures that eventually led to what we now call the chicken, the first such "chicken" specimen was hatched from the egg of its very nearly chicken parents. Egg first. That's how evolution and biology work.

If the question is, did eggs come before egg-laying animals, the answer is "possibly." If the question is, did the chicken come before the egg, the answer is an unequivocal "no." And, is it a weakness of science to adjust itself to evidence as it's discovered? Isn't that better than intransigence in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?

Regardless of that we have reason to believe that the living cell came first, like in the egg, it is a matter of definition.

You're not listening LOL.... your eyes might be seeing the words but your brain aint saying hello to them :) Go and debate it with the scientists and get them to change their minds, but for now, you better run with 'em, otherwise you are putting points against your own side!!

***‘It had long been suspected that the egg came first but now we have the scientific proof that shows that in fact the chicken came first,’ said Dr Colin Freeman, from Sheffield University, who worked with counterparts at Warwick University.‘The protein had been identified before and it was linked to egg formation but by examining it closely we have been able to see how it controls the process,’ he added.

The protein – called ovocledidin-17 (OC-17)– acts as a catalyst to speed up the development of the shell. Scientists used a super computer called HECToR, based in Edinburgh, to ‘zoom in’ on the formation of an egg. It showed OC-17 was crucial in kick-starting crystallisation – the early stages of forming a shell. The protein coverts calcium carbonate into calcite crystals which makes up the egg shell, creating six grammes of shell every 24 hours.

Prof John Harding, also of Sheffield University, said the discovery could have other uses.‘Understanding how chickens make shells is fascinating in itself but can also give clues towards designing new materials,’ he said.”

Still can't find anything that increased our knowledge about the universe, medicine, or technology that has come about due to the Bible or God magic, eh? An honest person would concede defeat, even if it's before he's even begun.
