God is the Author of the Bible! Despite of the fact that it was written by more than 40 authors, we must recognize one important fact: the people who put the pen to the paper were but instruments in the hand of God. The real author of the Bible is God. As apostle Paul wrote, "All Scripture is inspired by God"(2Tim.3:16). God chose it speak through these different people much like an artist uses different brushes to paint on a canvas. Each one had his own unique style, but the truth was the same.

Scientific evidence supports the Bible's accuracy. Archaeological findings have supported many of the complex historical passages found in the Bible. In addition, the Bible has greater documented accuracy that any other ancient literary work. In spite of the evidence God's Word must be accepted by faith. You, as an individual, must come to recognize that the words of the Lord are perfect, trustworthy, and right(Psalm 19:7-11).

Maybe there was a good book along time ago, but the one you have now isn't.

After learning how it's been changed who knows what it really ever said.

Good guys don't make dinosaurs, that should get you started.

And Im willing to bet that good guys don't make evil either.

The most original bible that people know about today makes no sense at all really.

We better hope that this wasn't created actually, do you know what that would mean? We would need saving you might say if it was.

Here is a song that mentions good books.

It also mentions how they have been outlawed.

Alot of things have been outlawed eh?.

Gone With the Wind describes the burning of Atlanta and numerous other civil war battles. That doesn't mean Rhett Butler was a real person.

It's most definitely believable. It's just not the 'choice' of the intellectual. Not intellectually stimulating (except of course for Christians). Another problem is that the non-believing intellectual can't see past images we normally associate with childhood depictions of the Bible:

Plus, the Bible has an offensive message. At least it's taken to be offensive by many. To even entertain the incidences in the Bible as being 'possible'(using the 'possible' scenario), one has to 'also' entertain the 'possibility' that it's message to mankind is 'truth'. That can be a difficult one to swallow.

Believable?!? Only as the messiest of fairy tales that someone refuses to look at too closely.

Bad math, bad science, bad geography, bad genealogies, and (most egregiously) bad morality.

That it's even still around shows just how far the species has to go just to scramble up to "decent".

This is just specious and outright lying.

What scientific evidence? What archeological findings? And what EXACT historical passages do they support and prove?

Plus, its not the artifact of the Bible that your God expects belief in - its all the magic mumbo-jumbo that Men have created that your religion demands belief in, and in turn says your God says to as well.

The Bible was never taught/mentioned by Jesus as his, or THE Holy and sacred tome that people must believe in as inspired or written thru direct dictation - and as such the ONLY means to find Him/all three of him...

The Bible is an historical artifact created centuries after your Messiah left town, and is more of what you/others worship than the alleged Deity mentioned inside of it...you hinge everything on this Book and support thereof, than you do on the alleged God.

I'm not sure I'm following your argument.

Intellectuals don't find the Bible intellectually stimulating but anti-intellectuals do find the Bible intellectually stimulating?

Intellectually Stimulating Question:

In what ways does the relationship of Saul and David mirror the relationship of Yahweh and his Chosen People?

Yes, Jesus referred to the bible in His day. Whenever He said, "Have you not read?" He was referring to the Old Testament, which is in our bible. Just how dense are you?

You know, it's really funny that He said "...have you not read..." because the vast majority of people, at that time, could NOT read.
I doubt if the apostles could even read.

What fantasy book did you get that from? Matthew was a tax collector. So, he could read AND write! Peter was a fisherman, it was his livelyhood. You don't think he kept accounts of his customers? Paul was VERY educated. Actually God had to smack him upside his arrogant, worldly educated head.

You so-called edumacated people aren't, are you?

This is dead on truth! God is the Author of the Bible just as He is the Author and finisher of all of His followers faith. He created each and every person on this earth to be used as an instrument to be used for His own pleasure, a vessel to operate and work through, and He can do this, why? Because He is the God of this Universe, He made us and He can do whatever He pleases! And if you chose to come down off of that swollen head of yours, stop suppressing the truth in your unrighteousness maybe, just maybe God could use you too. But in th mean time and between time let the Rock continue to fall on your wopeth head slowly crushing you to powder.

How do you know? Did all the Apostles read and write? Does keeping accounts require reading skills?

Now lets see here, where was I.....The main story of the Bible is too complex to be a hoax. The renowned historian Will Durant(feel free to google him)who devoted his life to the study of records of antiquity, made this observation concerning the accounts of Jesus and the early church in Scripture:"That few simple men should in one generation have invented so powerful and appealing a personality, so lofty an ethic, and so inspiring a vision of human brotherhood, would be a miracle far more incredible than any recorded in the Gospels. After two centuries of Higher Criticism the outlines of life, character, and teaching of Christ remain reasonably clear, and constitute the most fascinating feature in the history of Western man.
