Christ is not against homosexuals nor abortion. He did not say it was an abomination. HE affirmed the ten commandments but said the greatest of these is love they neighbor as thyself. He admonished those who judged others. There's no link to Christ hating gays at all in the Bible. Christ was NOT against homosexuality.
He also didn't say it was a sin to have sex with children. He didn't say it was a sin to have sex with animals. He didn't say it was a sin to have sex with your mother, your father or your siblings. He did not verbally condemn any of those, did He?

Cookie, you are not a Christian. Those trying to make sense to you are wasting their time because you are a reprobate. You are a twisted POS.

You should really quit lying...It makes you look stupid.
No, Paul was around about 70 years after Christ died.

Aren't you the one who says wikipedia facts can be changed?

http://www.positiveatheism.org/hist/maccoby2....

At the beginning of Christianity stand two figures: Jesus and Paul. Jesus is regarded by Christians as the founder of their religion, in that the events of his life comprise the foundation story of Christianity; but Paul is regarded as the great interpreter of Jesus' mission, who explained, in a way that Jesus himself never did, how Jesus' life and death fitted into a cosmic scheme of salvation, stretching from the creation of Adam to the end of time.

How should we understand the relationship between Jesus and Paul? We shall be approaching this question not from the standpoint of faith, but from that of historians, who regard the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament as an important source of evidence requiring careful sifting and criticism, since their authors were propagating religious beliefs rather than conveying dispassionate historical information. We shall also be taking into account all relevant evidence from other sources, such as Josephus, the Talmud, the Church historians and the Gnostic writings.

What would Jesus himself have thought of Paul? We must remember that Jesus never knew Paul; the two men never once met. The disciples who knew Jesus best, such as Peter, James and John, have left no writings behind them explaining how Jesus seemed to them or what they considered his mission to have been. Did they agree with the interpretations disseminated by Paul in his fluent, articulate writings? Or did they perhaps think that this newcomer to the scene, spinning complicated theories about the place of Jesus in the scheme of things, was getting everything wrong? Paul claimed that his interpretations were not just his own invention, but had come to him by personal inspiration; he claimed that he had personal acquaintance with the resurrected Jesus, even though he had never met him during his lifetime. Such acquaintance, he claimed, gained through visions and transports, was actually superior to acquaintance with Jesus during his lifetime, when Jesus was much more reticent about his purposes.

There were already standards of behavior in place. Societies existed you fundies were alive.

Our secular laws forbid sex with children. If you're trying to say the baptist ministers are doing god's will by screwing children, then say it. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God. In otherwords, use the bible to have sex with children and the US justice system will throw you in jail.

Being a homosexual isnt a sin, but engaging in gay sex is a sin and Christ didnt speak against homosexuality, but in the new testament it does speak against sexual immorality many times and homosexual/lesbian sexual relations are sexual immorality, wether you like it or not.
And for the 2 greatest command arguments: Love God and Love one another, if you really love God you would keep his commands and refraining from sexual immorality to show your Love towards God.
Christ was god made flesh to bring the word of god to man.

He was not against homosexuality. HE WAS against those who judged.

There is no sexual immorality in the homosexual community. Christ never condemned it as a sin. Only in the minds of republican made fundies does this issue ever surface. And the bible had to be rewritten in order for it to surface.

Cookie, maybe you need to read the bible from cover to cover again. The New Testament is RENEWED covenant, it is the fulfillment of the OT without the animal and sacrificial system as those were abolished. All the moral standards still apply in regards to murder, sexual immorality, and adultery...etc. You are not exempt from following Gods laws as they apply to all mankind.

It is absolutely insane to think homosexuality isnt sexual immorality, but if straight people are having sex outside of marriage with multiple people that it is sexual immorality to them, but you get a free pass, STOP FOOLING YOURSELF!

Lol no its not what Im trying to make it. It is what it is. If YOU dont want to say it is a sin thats fine. Dont say it dont say it to others. But to say that Jesus agreed with it is ignoring Jesus' words in comparison to the words of the prophets he OBVIOUSLY agreed with. Thats all.
Loving our neighbors as ourselves has NOTHING to do with someone being gay.
Judging gays and stating they are going to h3ll is in direct violation of Christ's teachings. Nothing more, nothing less.

As always, whenever I post this thread, NO one can show where Christ said abortion and homosexuality were sins. Because they ARE not sins...and the republicans had to rewrite the bible to get it to be a political wedge issue so the rich got richer from fundies voting for them.

You cant be serious!!!

Abortion is Murder, you are killing a child that has no say so on the matter.

Jesus didnt specifically talk about bestiality either but that doesnt mean it is okay for you to go and have sex with a horse.

You being attracted to the same sex is may not be not a sin, but you having sex with someone of the same sex is sin and it is listed in the bible in the OT and NT. Jesus taught from the Torah and so did Paul and the other apostles.
The new testament didnt even exist when they were around, so if you want to live by Jesus teachings, he taught right from the law and the prophets in the OT where it specifically defines homosexuality as detestable and an abomination. You can try to twist the bible all you want, but homosexuality is a sin and will always be.

We've been over this one, too. Christ said "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God What is God." Secular laws are against beastiality.

Jesus taught what he knew he should be teaching...NOT From the Torah, but from what his Father told him to teach by bringing him to earth. He added a whole new dimension to life here..and that's what God wanted. A break away from the Torah..for his people to see him as the Saviour. They failed to do that. They lost. But Christ did not perpetuate their religion at all. IT rose higher than it to give the HIGHEST commandment OVER the OT..."Love thy neighbor as thyself."

Mark 12:28-31

King James Version (KJV)

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

He didn't say the laws are above this or obey the JEwish laws. He said this.

Gods laws always are above the laws of the land. You can follow man or God , its your choice.

Jesus was not breaking away from the Torah, he and Paul are only stating the Torah is to show you your sins and to repent and you cant be justified by the law, but through faith is Jesus. But faith without works is dead. Your works cant be full of sin.

You do realize where Jesus got those 2 commands from? the OT..these are not 2 new commands he made up. Once again he is upholding his fathers law and showing how they should be lived.

Leviticus 19:18
18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Deuteronomy 6:5
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
