No, although some football fans do think that David is a god.

As there is no material evidence of him benefiting the national game, he seems to fit the bill.

Do you really think people pass a billboard and find your God? And lets not use the "plant a seed" argument, because proving the causation is impossible.
1. This question requires a bit more detail. At first glance it appears that you're viewing the billboard the same way Larry Tate would judge an advertisement slogan Darrin Stevens would come up with. How many people are going to buy the product as a result of the slogan? If Larry Tate doesn't reject the slogan right off the bat, if sales are relatively minimal it's time for a new slogan.

I don't think in the case of this billboard that it works that way. The question may be, do you think that absolutely 'no' one will convert? And if only 'one' person converts as a result of seeing the billboard, would it be worth the effort? Or, does success require mass conversion (not in the Catholic sense, but in terms of quantity)?

Just to add to this, since you seemed to indicate that the billboard is a waste of time from a third party Christian perspective, would the "wasting of time/money" depend upon a successful conversion ratio?

If say, around 20-30,000 people, the size of your average suburb made it publicly known that they converted as a direct result of seeing that billboard, would the billboard still be a waste of time, or worth it (from a Christian perspective)?

As Christians we can test everything according to the Word of God. If a heretical false teacher, such as a Harold Camping, puts up a billboard in contradiction to the Word of God, such as Camping's "May 21, 2011 Return of Christ" guessing fiascoes, then we know it is absolutely wrong.

But if the billboard is not in contradiction to the Word of God, such as sharing the gospel or earnestly contending for the faith, then there is nothing wrong with it.

Would the Word of God be against "Answers in Genesis" which does nothing but defend and glorify the Word of God? Of course not. That site is firmly grounded in solid and sound Biblical doctrine.

Some baby or weak Christians may see the billboard, visit the site, and get planted firmly in solid and sound doctrine. Or some unbelievers may visit the site out of curiosity and get saved. So I don't believe it's a waste of money at all. God Bless Brother Ken Ham for all his service to the Lord!

I guess ole' Harold never read Matthew 24:35-36

"Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man,no,not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
When you see people like Harold Camping trying to predict the "end of the World" you can pretty much tell that they are not much on the understanding of God's word.
The Bible warns against false prophecies and false prophets especially those that are done in his name.

On a side note,RR,I still don't appreciate you calling other Christians "babies" and "weak" just because they don't subscribe to serving the Lord the way those like you wants to do instead of doing it the Lord's way.
The Lord did not intended for us to be like that towards one another.
Your methods may be for the right reasons but they are done in the wrong way with the wrong attitude and I know you will disagree with my objections about it and continue to convince yourself that you are right in how you are going about it but let me put this to you like this...
There are people out there who has lived a life of a living Hell on Earth, some worse than others.
They are deprived in so many ways, their health is poor or deteriorating, they never had a chance to get their feet off the ground and their life is so far down at the bottom of the barrel that all they can do is look up.
Christ Jesus is the answer to their problems but sadly though they are not going to ever know that if we continue to keep kicking them while they are down and feed them hopelessness by telling them in an arrogant and hateful way that they are going to go to Hell if they don't believe and/or do what we want them to do and live their lives the way we want them to live their lives.
You want to lead them out of the darkness of this world?,then you must draw them to the light of hope & love and not with fears & fires.
and who is this light of hope and love?,Jesus.

I can't speak for him, but I'm going to tell you what I think he means anyways. For example, I'm a fairly new Christian. When I was saved I was an infant in Christ. Infants in Christ grow over time, just like infants born to human parents. They learn, and grow. That's all I think he means. God Bless!

You may believe that but that's not what it means.
I use to go to church before I left and quit going altogether.
Just because I quit going to church that doesn't mean that quit on the Lord.
I quit going to church because there was too much ego and strife and not enough humbleness and obedience to serve the Lord.
Too many people wanting to be like God and not enough that wants to follow the Lord.
I do read my Bible,I pray and I have fellowship with the Lord.
I always pray for guidance, understanding and forgiveness and I'm not too proud that I don't stop to reflect and thank the Lord for all he has done for me.
I know that I'm not well liked by a lot of people because I speak my mind and I'm not politically correct about it.
You are always going to find some if not more people in this world both online and offline that just assume spit in the Lord's face rather than take heed to his word.
That's never going to change no matter what but spitting back in their faces isn't going to accomplish anything either.
All it shows is that you (generally) are showing that you are offended by their bashing and ridiculing and more you express your resentment to them the more they are going to continue bashing & ridiculing.
I don't get on topix and post much like I use to because I,as of right now,am carrying a very heavy burden and sometimes it looks like things are getting better and then here comes another storm that I have to endure and ride out and I'm just about drained physically and mentally.
So,remember me and my family in prayer, that is all I ask.

Hello Gary, Harold Camping's issues run much much worse than just his multiple failed "end of the world" guessing games. The man is an absolute heretic who completely departed from any semblance of Christianity. His so-called "teachings" are riddled in false doctrine. People like him, Arnold Murray, and the other demonic cults are like a flesh eating disease to TRUE Christianity, they are an embarrassment in every sense of the word. That's me being very polite and kind. Google "Harold Camping a heretic" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

As far as my weak/baby Christian comments, that is in no way a disparaging or insulting term. EVERY Christian starts out as a weak baby, just like every person is born in the flesh as a weak baby. New Christians need nourishment, encouragement, strengthened, and established on solid and sound Biblical doctrine.

Satan hates when a person TRULY gets saved and becomes a BORN AGAIN child of God. He does everything possible to discourage them, keep them from becoming strong in the faith, separate them from loving stronger Christians, have them living defeated lives, etc etc.

Stronger Christians have been through the attacks from the devil in the past, we know his tactics and plans of attack. We were once weak babies ourselves, that's why it's our duty to be there for the newborn Christians and/or those weak in the faith.

The 100% thing EVERY Christian needs to do is be in the Word of God daily, to set aside time out of EVERY single day for Bible reading and study. Even Jesus, when He was tempted from the devil in the wilderness, used the Holy Word to deal with him. Jesus taught us exactly how to send the devil running, by quoting from and being firmly established in the Word of God.
