of a few million dollars...!? Is this the best use of funds by so called Xtians...?

Answers In Genesis - the Creationist Ministry whose president is the infamous Ken Ham.

"IRS filings for the ministry in recent years have shown a yearly operating budget of more than $25 million. Ham said the marketing budget is about 2% of that, about $500,000 a year. Though they are waiting for all the bills to come due for this campaign, he said he expected it to cost between $150,000 and $200,000."

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2013/10/09/crea...

IMO Jesus is angry that his followers spend money on crass commercials and not actual ministry to the poor and disadvantaged...as he demanded...I dont recall him saying collect a lot of money and use it to get into a pissing match...

Extremist Fundy Xtians, when will they learn and get a clue!?! When their God sends them off to their own level of hell for wasting time and money...

The first thing you notice about the republican linked televangelists followers is their disregard for the poor. The whole scheme set up by Nixon and Graham was to bring back support for the republican party via Christian REconstructionism. It's all for the rich, because their god loves the rich, and has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity.

Ah...Cookie , its easy to see the splinter in your brothers eye..harder to see the log in our own.

If you desire to help the poor and needy you can do at any time

God doesn't tell us to tell others what to do...he tells us what he wants us to do

Too many read the scriptures applying it to others..and few read them as applying to ourselves.

God Bless Brother Ken Ham in his inspiring ministry of earnestly contending for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints!

I love his wonderful website and his standing firm on God's Holy Word. The world needs more Ken Hams! God Bless You Brother!

I think it's a wonderful way to get the gospel out to the lost and Hellbound world. It's never a waste of money to give to God's work!

Not surprisingly, though my challenge has stood for at least three years, not a single fundie has stood up to my challenge to pick an article, any article, from AnswersInGibberish and demonstrate that it is not gibberish.

"Answers in Genesis" uses the Word of God to back up their articles, what is there to challenge? I would just use the Word of God to defend any article anyway.

Let me leave you with one of my favorite quotes about the Holy Bible:

"The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself.”– Charles Spurgeon

So what? You can't use Bible quotes to prove the Bible is true.
I understand this simple logic eludes you because you're crazy.
Pick an article and defend it.

In the end, yes, God will be the judge as to what works were a waste of time or of Him. But IMO, I think what you're implying by referring to ministry to the poor is equivalent to (to Christians) "just keep quiet and unseen". I don't personally think you're too concerned about God's will in this matter.

Keeping quiet is not what Jesus instructed His followers to do. If the intent was to be seen as a means of self promotion, then yes, that's not in God's design. Proclaiming His message from the rooftops 'without' the intent of self-glorification is what would be along the lines of Christ's command. And this article I think explains their position on ministering to the poor:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2011...

One thing to keep in mind is, there are different callings for different people.

Huh?

Sarcasm my young friend, sarcasm...learn it, know it...expect it!

BUT I'm serious, Jesus the Man would not approve of modern American Xtianity that wastes millions of dollars on pissing matches that involve of all things silly billboards. Tender to the poor and downtrodden would be his message with all that money. American Fundy Evangelical Xtianity is a dead-end. Evolutionarily speaking, its a dead-end. It has no where to go as it now manifests.

No I did not imply that THE larger Xtian ministry is to keep quiet and unseen. That truly only applies to how you all should be worshiping. That's what Jesus said, to not put on public displays, remember? Something Americans Xtians seem to think doesn't apply to them...because we are the Worlds show-offs.

Come on Job, face it, these billboards, be they from the Atheists or now this and other Xtian organizations are a colossal waste of money! Period. Monies that should be better spent by all parties to actually get an honest message out and not these trite and silly three to six word larger than life bumper-stickers.

But heathens like atheists dont know any better, but Xtians? They are the penultimate when it comes to knowing whats right. All that you do should be to serve the base-line of what Jesus taught! And its not these huge public displays that amount to nothing but a pissing match.

Approx $250,000 for a billboard...how far would that go for an actual boots on the ground xtian ministry in the locality of the Billboard..? How many local soup kitchens are begging for money? H

Yeah but sadly many of them are too ignorant to know better, and in that bunch are a lot of people who really should not be giving up their monies - even if they are public assistance funds.

It saddens me that this form of American Xtianity has gained so much wealth, and none of the so called true Xtians out there see this as a real waste of not only money, but totally contrary to the base-line messages of their messiah...

I think its time we non-believers really try to help Xtians be better at their chosen faith. Its not us in their way, its the Xtians among them who use their faith for mega-wealth accumulation and personal public exposure...

Ah, but your voting AGAINST helping the poor, and making sure the rich get welfare checks for their businesses, is what God will judge you on. IN THIS nation, you have a choice on what to do with your taxes....make the rich richer and kill the poor, or help the poor and still have rich in this nation.

What makes you think I don't help the poor? What an insane thing to think.

Now, wait a minute. Women you tell NOT to have abortions, but you don't want to tell the government to help the poor? Sounds a bit like selectively picking and choosing what verses in the bible you want to use.
