Hey, it would be nice if you would communicate with your old friends. Some of us may be in dire straits and in need of His love. Why is it so~called Christians avoid that very thing Jesus called us to?? Miss you .....
The reason I do not stay is because I took a beating emotionally and spiritually for many years on Christian Topix. God gave me permission to take rest from the scoffers who do not want to be reached.

I have been busy in other ministries.

I go where He sends me.

Every once in awhile God puts it on my heart to post one of my book markers I write and print for prison ministry,

I try to plant a seed.

No arguing.....no fighting......I plant a seed and let God do the rest.

God bless you and I pray you stay strong in the Lord.

God loves you and so do I!

And WTF does that have to do with women not teaching... well unless you are saying Paul was a false prophet.

In that case so be it on that scripture. However, the most of the misogyny takes place in the OT :D Paul was just keeping pace.

Indeed! Truly it is my fault what is wrote in your bible and how it differs from reality. Blame the bible’s issues on me! lol

There is a difference between believing what the bible says… and what you are trying to tell me that the bible says. ;)

Despite the jokes and sarcasm that often come with my posts, I was trying to help. Dont want to see you go down that road that is destined for those that deny God's existence (unless God has mercy on them anyways which is ABSOLUTELY possible). This will be met with a smart aleck remark probably, but oh well I guess. Maybe one day you'll take the time to humble yourself and search for God instead of expecting God to do EVEN MORE than He has already done. It is possible, but I do not think God owes YOU or ME anything.
You create an "unproven illness" justifying it by your religion and it just so happens that your particular religion also has the "cure" for it.
"What happens when we die?"

It all really just comes back to that simply question alone don't it? And what do we know vs. what do we simply believe happens to us when we die? Its a big question no doubt. However, claiming you have an answer for this when you don't is just story telling.

You say "deny" I say “no proof” to give me a reason to believe.
Also I want you to know... I was there... did the same thing and felt the same way when I was Pentecostal. I wanted to help people spiritually because I genuinely thought they needed it. It's not bad that you want to help and feel concern for others. Hell, it's a good thing. However as I came to find out, you are amongst billions of other people that think and feel the same way, many with different religions but the same story.

What it had to do with is people often refusing to understand the Hebrew and ensure that the HEBREW matches the TRANSLATIONS that are in English bibles. Not everyone wants to take those steps though....
Misogyny has nothing to do with not understanding the Hebrew.

Human free will has nothing to do with God creating MAN and WOMAN in His own IMAGE.
This has nothing to do with the topic. Nor does it prove a point. Free will does not exist in your morbid world view. Even the bible is kind enough to point this out multiple times. As in people being killed or punished for the crimes of their ancestors. Once you ad that little bit to your “free-will equation”, everything goes to sh*t.

If I asked you or a Elizabeth to bring 3 COMMANDMENTS that say that women are less than men could you do it? I dont think so. But even if you can, I dont care. Not because I believe women are less than men, but because I believe YOU do not want to believe in God. No matter what.
LOL… A challenge, then an “I don’t care” from you. Essentially this sums it up. You don’t care what the truth is. Your own words.

I hoped that thru talking, you would eventually evaluate your position (as I did when I was atheist for a short period of time) to ENSURE its the right position to take.
Oh, really an atheist? So what logical evidence(s) swayed your discussion? I would bet none, as in you already stated that you don’t care about evidences and or fact, you just care about your continued dogmatic and close minded belief in the superstitious world.

It doesnt seem like you have, but who knows what the future holds? When I was in high school a few years ago, I would have never thought I would be thinking and honoring God daily in my life. Coming from a time where I didnt even do that necessarily weekly let alone daily. But here I am. And in the future, God willing, I will do greater things for the world to see. Maybe one day, you'll see and know its me lol
So, if you graduated high-school a few years ago and used to be an atheist, I am forced to ask, how long were you an atheist?

You then said “I didnt even do that necessarily weekly let alone daily” Were you praying while also claiming to be an atheist?

Yes it has everything to do with the topic. So point out COMMANDMENTS that demonstrate women being inferior or leave it be. But dont bring a person treating a woman this way or that way because that doesnt represent ALL as the commandments do. Otherwise, I could say you as a white man, is evil because of the "white man's" colonial rule WORLDWIDE that has continuously oppressed others. But that wouldnt be fair now would it?

Because you're not going to bring a commandment that exemplifies the belief that women are less than men in Hebrew culture. If you are, then bring it to the table

Not longer than a month. It was really because I saw gnostic gospels and the Sumerian texts and thought the bible was fake. Eventually, I couldnt get over the belief of the source of everything we see today, coming from a lifeless universe. Or a lifeless molecule. Or whatever atheists believe the source of existence is. I couldnt get over it so I kept looking

And no I wasnt praying while an atheist. But WHILE an atheist I was still looking at different things. I didnt just STOP searching just at that time I concluded that God didnt exist.

1. Yes. Paul was either a false prophet or mistaken teacher or false teacher etc... Thats just going by comparison with the law and the prophets..

2. You dont have any COMMANDMENTS that exemplify "misogyny".

3. "What happens when we die?" Just because we do not know does not mean that we ignore this position. Not if we're wise. Not if we SEE that some Being came to one SMALL nation (smaller than the Egyptians, Greeks, Babylonians, Romans, and other nations that have ruled over large portions of earth) and revealed Himself. So "ignoring it" just because we dont know, isnt wise. Even if you dont believe God exists and is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

4. I'd argue that if you were "pentecostal" that you might not have read or understood much of your bible. But I'll leave that for another thread.

1) 10th Commandment lists "wives" among other pieces of male property not to be coveted. Husbands are not mentioned.
2) Hebrew warriors were typically instructed to kill all male opponents, but to keep female captives for themselves as wives, which did not require their consent.
3) Inheritance laws favor male children over females.
4) Male Hebrew slaves had to be released after 6 years. Females did not.
5) When a woman was raped, the rapist had to pay restitution to victim. But...the victim was regarded as the woman's father, who owned her, not the woman herself.
6) Women were not typically allowed to be witnesses during trials.
7) Men were head of the household, over their wives; not equals.
8) Men could take multiple wives. Women could not take multiple husbands.
9) Women could not be priests.
10) Baby girls caused women to be "unclean" for twice as long as baby boys.
11) Leviticus 27 literally puts values on people and females are worth 3/5 as much as males.
12) Women who had premarital sex were executed. Men faced no such penalty.

How many examples do you need?

5) Continued cultural beliefs...

This is a holy book we are talking about no? So your comparative or way to justify it is by pointing out the evils committed by others? FANTASTIC LOGIC. Actually no, it’s not.
Your logic…(Its no so bad because this other thing was bad too…) Forgetting one of the two things is said to be enacted by a god.

You fail at the premise that your book is supposed to contain morals, not be a standard in which to impose slavery, misogyny or the death of others because of your failed belief system.

Intellectual dishonesty… Talk about stretching.
"You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor's house or land, his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

This is comparative of ownership, that’s why a man had to give goods to the father… to BUY the wife. Women were looked at as a commodity.

Your statement is about a child and is not used as property like you would say your house. Nor is anything said about a woman coveting a man.

I mean there is a wealth of examples of this:

My point in bringing up white men in relation to what we're discussing was to exemplify that YOU cannot bring how "this person" in the bible acted or "that person" in the bible acted and say it represents the whole culture. YOU CANT. So show it in the laws. Show how they could mistreat and look down upon women IN THE LAWS....

The POINT is that the wife belongs to the husband just as the husband belongs to the wife. Why else would people say MY (possessive) HUSBAND/WIFE/SON/DAUGHTER. That doesnt mean that they are property as in shoes, television sets, clothing lol. The commandment was talking about coveting something that BELONGS to a neighbor. And a husband DOES belong to a wife and vice versa otherwise it wouldnt be looked down upon in YOUR society when people cheat with a person that is married.

I think you're the one that needs to look up what it means.

1. dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.
2. hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women.

So somehow, priests only being men means that theres a deep "dislike, contempt, and hate" for women? How do you figure that?

No bigotry. Just that if you want to point out individuals using their free will to treat another group of people one way, we can judge you by that same token. And theres no denying what I said either about the history and colonialism

Yes it doesnt matter. Why? Because as I said, you cant bring anything. All you could bring was that verse (that Im sure you didnt even bring but someone else did) to twist. Somehow you can say "my wife" and not mean it as property but in the bible it means completely different. Somehow, society believes that a husband belongs to the wife and the wife to the husband, but in the bible its completely different.

You might pull something if you stretch anymore lol....
