While I might find the practices of the aforementioned questionable, there is no evidence to support your spurious claim.
Just because God makes something okay to eat doesn't mean you HAVE TO eat it.
Personally, I avoid chocolate, marshmallows and yams.
Both separately or together. YUK!

I feel the same way when some moron says Atheists have no morals. Just because I can get away with something doesn't mean I would choose to do wrong.

Agreed, that would be an unjust conclusion.

Most atheists live by Judeo-Christian morals,........they just refuse to admit the source of their moral compass.

Morality predates your religions. You renamed winter solstice so you've got a history of "inventing" then attempting to tax items that were already in the public domain.

History disproves your allegation.
Predating Christianity the general rule was 'might makes right','take what one can by force','outta my way'.
Even in ancient Jewish society the rule was an 'eye for an eye and tooth for tooth'.

The Church's efforts to bring Christian morals to civilization were nearly in vain during medieval times as carnal kings played havoc trying to destroy one anothers lands and peasants from bare greed and internecine violence.

Mankind, left to his own devices, is a very self-serving and greedy specie.

Truth is MORE often denied by errant believers who are absolutely certain they already know it.

Why do so many US believers use "survival of the fittest" as an excuse to not provide healthcare to the poor (something I think you believe your jesus would want) when Darwin said not to apply "survival of the fittest" to human society?
Morality predates religion.
Morality exists outside of religion.
<quoted text>
Health care is and has been available to anybody requiring it in the USA.
Often the beneficiaries do not pay for services.
This has gone on since the booting out of King Charles's cronys.

Whether it is Catholic health services providing the free pro-bono care or another sort of charity or simply the health facility writing off the losses.
Previously we just didn't have the government screwing up the works.

The morality basis is purely Judeo-Christian, and so is yours..

Whether you are brave enough to admit it or not.

Just as some people can drink moderately and others cannot. Same with marijuana. I have abused it as well. But I enjoy it as it settles me down after a long day more so then a drink could. If I would suggest anything to someone, it would be to be sober. But if one seeks to enjoy himself (within reason) I would suggest marijuana over alcohol. Especiallly if one is gonna consume it over smoking it.

No, I wasn't. It didn't even occur to me to consider the possible relevance to myself. If you hadn't mentioned it, I might never have! So thank you. It took only seconds after reading your post to realize that I have indeed, been guilty of being certain I knew something I did not!
But what I had actually meant to refer to, was more a constant state of denial, in which any information contradicting set beliefs is rejected in defense of them.

It would appear that the efforts of your church to promote Christian morals failed dismally when you consider the actions of its clergy. Here in Ireland, yet another can of worms has been opened leading to an independent inquiry over abuse by nuns against children in their care. Abuse that included forcing children to eat their own vomit, and bathing them in Jeyes fluid which is normally used to clean floors. If you have the stomach to read about it you can google "Abuse by nuns at Nazereth House childrens home in Londonderry". I would advise you to stop preaching to people about morals. People who live in glass houses and all that!

Marijuana is a plant and is also medicine. I don'tsee any problems with a Christian using marijuana unless its all they do all day everyday. if used sparingly it can be a good teacher plant for it will open up the doors of perception.

Yes, both people AND The Church were severely damaged by Irish homosexual commies infiltrating the clergy.
So much for the VCII attempt at liberalism and hiring gays.

Irish homosexual commies? I'll overlook your derogatory and racist remark as I realize it is coming from a bigot who knows no better, but I would ask you to provide evidence for your statement. The problem your church had, and probably still has, is the number of paedophile clergy in its ranks, and not your favourite bogey men, homosexuals and communists The present case of abuse I referred to in my previous posts concerned physical abuse, not sexual abuse, by nuns against children in their care. Were these nuns Irish lesbian commies? Irish, yes, but lesbians and communists, I don't know, and neither do you, but if the inquiry finds that they were indeed guilty of these abuses, then a much more appropriate name for them would be evil bitches!

Well I am Irish, the rest of your post just makes you look foolish. As you obviously still have a lot of growing up to do, I can only hope for your sake that you eventually grow out of making such ridiculous and childish outbursts. May I also assure you that you do not have to be sensitive in regard to what you post to me. People can be critical of me and express opinions of me that are wrong, but if they are honestly held opinions I can deal with that and tell them why I think they are wrong, but if a person tells deliberate lies with no regard for the truth, then that is a different story. People like that are not to be trusted, and sadly for you, that is where I place you. You claim to be a Christian, yet like so many others here on Topix who claim to be Christians, seem incapable of following even the most basic tenet of your faith, that being, honesty. You might want to check out the meaning of that word!

Not true, I know many SDA's that are very sick and they dont eat pork, shellfish, or dairy.

but if you ask me, the problem with the RCC was due to 217 Italian popes, making it not a church, but the pagan roman empire revived along with it's homosexuality, thus, sympathetic to irish homosexual commies

what a terrible malicious slanderous accusation .. NO ..NO please don't make the same mistake as our Churches and institutions that Pedophiles should be treated sensitively ..they shouldn't ..they should be made aware of the consequences their selfish seedy five minutes of pleasure has caused to their victims and the life long thats if their victim doesnt kill themselves struggles they have caused the victim and be castrated ..save your sensitivity for the innocent Children

Do you and Cisco Kid attend the same kindergarten? If you and he are vying for the title to prove which of you is the most stupid, then I'm afraid you will both have to call it a draw, because it is not possible for anyone to be more stupid than you two already are!

you don't think that 217 Italian popes is more of a roman empire then a religion?

was homosexuality 'not unheard of' in roman society?

as for irish communist homosexuals, I don't no where that phrase comes from, but since I figure I don't know everything [and neither do you] where there's smoke there's fire, even though there's a wee bit of irish in me, I tagged it on
