http://www.wtsp.com/news/local/story.aspx... See this is the hypocrisy.......... My favorite quote from the article/report is :'Johntay Smith, who lives in Lakeland not far from the billboard says she was disturbed by the sign. "It's not right and they need to take it down," said Smith.' LMAO.. I wonder what she says about the Jesus billboards! It ISN'T about religion folks.. its about the stupidity!

My question is: why do atheist groups want to post something like this? Christians can put up billboards to promote Christianity, so I guess atheists can do their thing, too. But Christians believe IN God.......they are promoting the worship of a Supreme Being. Atheists aren't promoting anything except an unbelief.....it's like they're fighting against God, but they don't even believe in God. They are fighting against something that they want to make other people think doesn't exist.......so I guess that's PROOF that God does exist, or they wouldn't be fighting so hard against Him.

Using your logic, I would be able to prove dragons existed by putting up billboards saying they don't exist.

http://www.newschannel5.com/global/story.asp... They're in Nashville, too. When you look back to the early days of billboard advertising it was mostly restaurants and gas stations, advertising neccessary commodities along major routes. Who doesn't know "See Rock City"- one of the very first billboard campaigns, which utilized barns. As in everything else, people have seen fit that more is better and now our cities are cluttered with them, they hang over buildings and overwhelm tiny lots. I've read about the cigarette advertising controversy. Then when liqour stores and adult stores started using billboards the inevitable happened and the Ten Commandments started popping up everywhere. Then there was the "God" campaign, remember that? It seems here, too, the inevitable has happened- it's the natural order of things. Tit for tat, or maybe tat for tit is more fitting here? lol The skylines just aren't what they used to be.

"is your old car in need of a replacement?" its an advert for people like me to find like-minded people. and as someone else pointed out, your logic is ridiculous. a sign seeking to share information of a particular group doesnt prove any gods. and this tact that if atheists dont believe in god why do they do these things, why do they rant against god so much, that they must think this god is real, etc - is 100% wrong. it fails any test of logic. I other atheists typically are not protesting against an actual god, its the believers, THE BELIEVERS. always has been. its the manner in which believers inject their myths into reality based arenas, the way believers insist that this nation should be using the bible to write our laws, to use the bible as some magical pill, that despite their being no evidence of a better xtian world continue to insist that we're not devout enough, not praying hard enough, not beseeching their god for more blessings, mercy, etc. Its always about the Believers. and your individual and collective behaviors and the things (god, bible, faith) you all use to excuse and exempt yourselves and accuse others of...! get it straight already. how many times must this be pointed out?

Hello ccrider //My question is: why do atheist groups want to post something like this?// And My Question is,, Why should we Not put up a billboard like this ?? Our Atheist views offend You, just as much as Your Oppressive views Offend Us.. // Christians can put up billboards to promote Christianity, so I guess atheists can do their thing, too.// Exactly... We have them scattered all over the place here, some spouting the exact same Nonsense as here. // But Christians believe IN God// Big Deal.. You don't own the Rights to Spirituality any more than Anyone else... //they are promoting the worship of a Supreme Being.// Again.. Big Deal... // Atheists aren't promoting anything except an unbelief// Exactly...It is our point of view and we Intend to make that Publicly Clear to Everyone...Those who support and want to join us, Great.. Those that don't,, that's fine as well... //it's like they're fighting against God,// We're not fighting Against "god", because there is NO god.. We're fighting against the "Idea" of god being the Only way to live ones life... // They are fighting against something that they want to make other people think doesn't exist.......so I guess that's PROOF that God does exist, or they wouldn't be fighting so hard against Him.// Your christian Logic is quite Evident.. That statement is Nonsense and Illogical.. Tell me Why it is you do not believe in Any other gods ?? A.

They don't do that around here. Billboards are for commercial use here, radio stations, Broadway plays, investment banking, etc. I haven't seen any atheist signs either.

Billboards are for use by anyone willing to pay for them (that's called commerce, the root word for commercial)regardless of message.. go call one of those billboard companies.

Atheist wrote: "Tell me Why it is you do not believe in Any other gods ??" Because there is only one true God. There may be many false gods. A person can make his TV a god; whatever he is putting above the one true God. Spirituality? Yes, there are fallen angels and demons. When people get into witch craft, etc., more than likely they are dealing with these evil beings....the followers of Satan. The devil has atheists just where he wants them. He has tricked them. He knows that they, unless they are saved before dying, that they will spend eternity being tormented with him. These are people he has "stolen away" from God....people that God won't spend eternity with.

Three come to mind right away, one a WELL KNOWN name muffler shop, one a fairly well know tire center, and one a pet center. oops, forgot a car repair shop. Thing also is this, resident, a couple of these places, if you go in and use their services, also have a KJV Bible proudly "displayed" near the cash register.

It's "displayed", it's not jumping into anyone's hands and making them read it. A lot of places "display" the first dollar they made. Who cares? I personally think billboards, in general, trash up the landscape. But, when driving down the Interstate, they give you something to read...LOL

I would think if the Bus is government funded/operated then there would be a problem, but privately owned bus companies are not bound by government rule, other than transport standards. Seems this would apply to billboards.
