<quoted text>The simple truth is that most people really don't care what the Bible says about living moral lives. Rather, they pick and choose from the Bible's prohibitions.
The fact is that, in the book of Leviticus, what was not moral was pagan worship of a false god; that was the evil; that was the abomination and many of those rites were sexual in nature. The great sin was to take part in any of their rites.
It was not about homosexuality at all.
Leviticus does address homosexuality and warns against it. I agree most people don't care what the Bible says but that does not mean its not the truth of God. Those who disregard it put their eternal souls at risk.

Let us know if you adhere to all 600+ things Leviticus mentions.

Get back to us when you have any evidence to support your "truth of God" claim.

Leviticus describes the laws that ancient Israel was to live by. These laws were applicable to them and not to us.

So what great moral principles have atheists given the world? What do atheist bring to the table? Do they even have a place????

If Leviticus describes laws for ancient Israel to live by and they DON'T apply to "us" meaning Americans........THEN HOW CAN THESE LAWS BE APPLIED TO GAYS AND LESBIANS in this Country and this time frame? This is called by HYPOCRITICAL......if the laws from Leviticus do not apply to you......THEN THEY CERTAINLY DON'T APPLY TO ME OR OTHERS WHO ARE GAY OR LESBIAN......thanks for clearly that up......now, I would expect you to not mention them again with regards to Homosexuality:-)

As for what do Atheists bring to the table......they bring the ability to question that which does not make sense to them or probably to others!!!

Have you ever heard of the fall and how sin has perverted God's creation?
Acts 10:15 has to do with food not people.
The purpose of that vision was to prepare Peter to share the food of Cornelius' household without qualms of conscience.
The necessity of such instructions to Peter reveals that at first not even the Apostles grasped the implications of Jesus' teachings on the law.
In Acts, the original insight belongs to Stephen.

We know that not one Christian here adheres to all 63 laws in the bible. Even Jesus practiced the laws until he died and was buried in accordance with biblical law, which todays Christians don't even follow that. Christians took it upon themselves to change things, not Jesus.

Great, then you can shut up about what it says because it is not relevant.

Why don't you ask an atheist, instead? Or did you ASSume, I was atheist because I don't agree with you? I can tell you that atheists don't hide behind a 2000 year old story book as they condemn everyone.

If Leviticus was the only place homosexuality was mentioned you would have a point. However, it is mentioned in other places such as in the teachings of Jesus and the apostles which have universal application to all mankind.
No atheist has ever made a positive case against the existence of God. They bring nothing positive for further discussion or discovery.

You're missing the point. Those laws are so ridiculous and barbaric that it destroys the credibility of the Bible and its god as moral guides entirely.

Who needs to? Theists have never made a decent case FOR the existence of gods.

The hypothesis is easily rejected.

Actually these laws had a number of functions. One is that it kept them healthy. It also kept them separate from the pagans nations and gave them a unique national identity.

Just as some of the STORIES in the Old Testament gave them a history.

I didn't say they were functionless. I said they were ridiculous and barbaric.

Odd, that's the exact opposite of the excuse we usually hear.

Slavery is ok? Well, that's just how it was everywhere back then!
Women are property? Well, that's just how it was everywhere back then?
Death penalty for minor crimes? Well, that's just how it was everywhere back then!

Now these things were necessary to form a national identity?

And tell me this, Miss High and Mighty,,If we can't vote against the so-called "rights" of others, why is it always brought up for a vote? If it was an inherent right, WHICH IT ISN'T, for gays to marry then it wouldn't be brought up to vote on.
Well, don't you know that the 30+ states that have it illegal, just didn't get it?

So what? The earth was nothing for billions of years then one day 9000 years ago or so all life just appeared in it's current form?Well not really as back in the day(according to the bible) T-rex and all Carnivore were vegetarian.
That is not much better.
Who said the earth was nothing for the first billions of years? Not me. And if you think so then you are ignorant. The earth was ALWAYS made to be inhabited.

Since you have no religion it's a moot point but when a pastor or priest or cleric transcends preaching a moral code and tells his congregation how to vote he jeopardizes his congregation's tax exempt status.
Is this a bit too difficult for you to understand?
I didn't pray for you yesterday but I make no apology.
God bless you.
Well since it says the prayers of a RIGHTEOUS man availeth much, I don't miss your prayers since they are no good.

And I didn't say the preachers TELLS the congregation how to vote, he only TEACHES the congregation what the bible says about a particular instance. In this case, gay marriage. THEN the congregation should be smart enough to know that God detests gay marriage and vote AGAINST it.

I am in now way accusing YOU of being smart however.
