true christians do not go around hating someone because of the color of their skin or anything of the such.which means they are what i call c.i.n.o.'s or christians in name only, such as fred phelps and his bunch, they and the klan give true christians a bad name..

If they can only practice the following;
- do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
- to love your enemy as you love yourself
- to love one another.
- "thou shall not kill".
They will become God-loving children.

Simple and to the point. Narrows the field quite a bit, eh? Nicely written.

if they are christians back in the day i.e. 1940's,1950's and 1960's they broke at least 1 of GOD'S commandments ''thou shalt not kill'' and certainly broke the GOLDEN RULE ''love your neighbor as yourself'',real good christians dont you say<snickers>.

your god tells you to kill....and then tells you not to..he tells you to forgive..then he tells you to take revenge..

the bible tells you that EVERYTHING is ok...people who dont kill use the bible as justification..and are christians...people who do kill do the same..and are also christians...just because you chose the non-killing parts doesnt make them the only parts...

its no wonder the worlds in such a mess...

Numbers 15:32-36
<< Numbers 14 | Numbers 15 | Numbers 16 >>
A Sabbathbreaker Executed
32 While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation. 34 They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him. 35 And the Lord said to Moses,“The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, as the Lord commanded Moses.

there you go...god told people to stone a man to death for collecting firewood..maybe he was cold or hungry..

is that compassion?

i would LOVE any of you to try and justify this..

harper i will do my best to explain that particular scripture, back then mankind was under the old laws and covenant, meaning if a person broke any of the laws back then they were required to be put to death, but then in the new testament GOD sent his son jesus to die and thus by doing so did away with the old laws and established a new covenant one that no longer requires the death of mankind since jesus already died on the cross thus paying mankinds penalty for disobeying GODS laws.

you see..thats what i dont understand...WHY were the old days under different rules?...who decided?

it would seem god did...so the question stands....WHY?...

why didnt god just say right from the start that you shouldnt kill people for working on sundays?

how can anyone find this ok?

one more thing..jesus also said he didnt come to overturn the old rules..but to enforce them......another contradiction..

none of us know why things were different back then, and i dont know the mind of GOD so i cant answer your second question.possibly he was talking about the ten commandments but no one knows for sure.i dont have all the answers but i have tried to do my best to explain things with my limited knowledge.

apparently i understand things better than you do at least to a certain extent, that doesnt mean i know everything but i do know this much, back before jesus came along certain animals were needed to be sacrificed to please GOD,but jesus then became our sacrifice thus doing away the need for blood sacrifices.im not as stupid as i seem, ive been studying the bible for a mighty long time, well over 20 years.
