I’m not aware of any study that shows unbelivers are any less charitable than religious people.

"Religion supports nobody. It has to be supported. It produces no wheat, no corn; it ploughs no land; it fells no forests. It is a perpetual mendicant [beggar]. It lives on the labors of others, and then has the arrogance to pretend that it supports the giver." ~Robert G. Ingersoll (Civil War veteran, American political leader, and orator)

At this stage of my existance...the 'church' any church, doesn't have anything to do with what i believe or think...

And please tell me when I have said that?

Seems, more than anyone else, even Jeff...you promote, and mention the name of 'Jesus' more than anyone else on here...hmm...

I am aware of countless charities that are founded and run by Christians. Are there any founded and run by atheists and agnostics?

They say love and hate are opposite sides of the same coin...and that you have to 'love' something before you hate it...

And I predict that, like Saul, in the bible...who use to persicute Christians, before his conversion...that you too will convert...

One day you'll be as 'Pro-Christian' or Salvation, as you pretend to be against it now...

Just add a little 'time' and 'maturity' and a 'incedent'...and I predict you will one day be preaching brimstone and fire to the 'unsaved'...it's your destiny...

And what if after you pass...there really is a 'hell'...then what?
Then I'm fvcked. As are most of us when you and your sick, psycho Torturer God, Jesus have your way with us.

But I think it's pretty safe to bank on the idea that the creator and maintainer of the universe (if such exists) would not be a sadistic torturer like you make YOUR God out to be.

Why would you worship a God who will torture you endlessly and ceaselessly if you don't? Aside from fear, I guess.

What weight will the ideas and notions you had here, matter then?
And what if 'Jesus' is simply a spirit, one of many spirits, who wanted to 'help' humanity...and you rejected that help...
Then what?
You know, I hope that only really third-rate minds have to resort to Pascal's Wager in pushing their shabby theological ideas?

There's nothing 'Theological' about the idea of there being a divine creator or a 'spirit world' awaiting us...

And of course, if we are going to play this game, your obsession with atheists and trying to convert atheists, means ... OF COURSE ... that you secretly want to dump all of this Jesus crap and enjoy the freedom of being an atheist -- or at least an agnostic. It'll be FUN once you jump right out of that tiny little fundie box, won't it?

By the way, ever read the books of Dan Barker, former fundie minister and well-know Christian musician, now confirmed ATHEIST and president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation?

Losing Faith in Faith was helpful to me in my own break from the manacles of religious tyranny. Dan's book makes for both good sense and good humor.--Steve Benson, editorial cartoonist, Arizona Republic

Barker is compelling, humourous, and rational. His arguments are clear and thought-provoking.--Andrew Fandre, Huntsville Times

This book profoundly affected me. It's funny, and poignant, and most importantly, true! You must read this book.--Julia Sweeney, comedian, actress, "Saturday Night Live" alumna

A challenge to believers; an arsenal for skeptics.-

Review excerpt:

Dan Barker was an evangelical minister and missionary who did everything from writing songs and skits for children to working with youth groups to preaching street sermons to adults. However, somewhere in the course of this career he began to be aware of the fact that his religious beliefs were in serious conflict from his intellectual knowledge about our scientific world.

This book brought many negative aspects of Christianity to light that had been completely ignored, conveinently explained away, or totally unknown to me in my super-religious past. I never realized the Bible was so anti-family and that the various qualities we attribute to God are so self-contradicting. It also further examined some parts of the Bible I had already wondered about, such as its blatant sexism and racism, and its inaccuracy in accordance to history, although I had been told by every preacher out there that it was correct.

If you are from a Christian religious background I can only imagine the response my little book review is illiciting, and I totally expect to receive self-righteous hate mail under the guise of loving Christianity. However, I completely understand, for if I had read a book review like this during my very devoutly religious stage, I would have felt the same way. All I can ask you to do is read the book for yourself. If you read it and disagree with my conclusions, that's great and there is no harm done.

Hell is no joke. Once you are there, you won't get another chance.
Hebrews 2:3
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Luke 16:23-24
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Revelation 14:9-11
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
