so, too, do you do unto me.

Who is Christ referring to the as the "least of these"?

What are the actions of our society toward the "least of these"?

Does how you vote affect how the "least of these" are treated in this nation?

You are right.
The least of these are the poor and disenfranchised and how I vote affects how the "least of these" are treated in this nation.

I vote Republican because the Democrat platform is all empty claims about "defending" and "providing for" the least of these.
The Democrat agenda must maintain a large group of 'the least of these' to maintain a constituency otherwise they lose their platform relevancy.

SO the Democrat agenda is all about keeping a large segment of the voting population 'down on the plantation'.
That way they maintain their voting block instead of moving people to financial independence and freedom.

Republicans have not created the return to the plantation? Where is their jobs bill? They have reduced the amount of money for the foodstamp program to give more to corporate farmers.

Republicans refuse to raise the minimum wage.

As governors, republicans are stopping Medicaid in many states.

I can't see your logic. Please provide, if you would, examples of laws republicans have passed since 1994 which help the "least of these."

You bet it does. The fear god party would take more from the needy and poor to give the super rich another tax cut.

So why is it that states that mostly vote Democrat bring in more money then they get from feds while most states that vote republican live off federal government handouts? AKA they take more money then then they give...

I agree....you vote your values...and as the born again evangelism movement is wont of saying, churches can support their party. IMHO, to support a party that legislates more money for the rich and less basic needs to the poor is NOT following Christ's teachings.

Where on earth are you getting your information?

Just for giggles, compare Republican states like North Dakota and Texas to Democrat states like Michigan and California.

Kinda blows your theory outta the water, don't it?

IMO you should get off your soap box as you are doing the same thing you accuse others of. Those born again fundamentalists along with other Christian religions provide millions of dollars of relief for the most impoverished people in this world through generous contributions. Christians don't need to be forced/taxed to be charitable. Maybe you should find your own way to solve poverty rather than rely on everyone else.

No. The democrats have maintainted the plantation of enslavement to entitlement mentality.

"ALLEN WEST: I‘M HERE TO LEAD BLACKS OFF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ’PLANTATION’

GOP Rep. Allen West believes that the Democratic Party is akin to a modern-day “plantation.”

In an interview on Wednesday night’s “O’Reilly Factor,” he told guest host Laura Ingraham that he is the “modern-day Harriet Tubman” and that he wants to lead fellow African Americans away from the the “21st century plantation.”

West made extremely bold statements throughout the interview, apparently undeterred by any negative response he might receive from the Democratic Party or from fellow African Americans.

Commenting on anger that was seen at a Congressional Black Caucus (of which West is the only GOP member) town hall meeting in Detroit this week, he said:

“The people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about…I’m here as the modern-day Harriet Tubman to kind of lead people on the underground railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility.”

West went on to dismiss some African American leaders as “nothing more than overseers over that plantation” and he stated his belief that white liberals have relied upon people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to support Democratic policies. These individuals, he claims, have failed to addresses important matters.

That said, he explained that there is an opportunity for conservatives to reach African Americans by connecting with them on the issues of “individual responsibility and accountability, faith and family,[and] hard work ethic.”

Really? Well the born again evangelists have done it for decades now..and our nation is so divisive and hates one another and the rich keep getting richer...so I think it's about time the Christian community come back to the discussion and get the liberal side of caring for humanity back on track in this nation.

<quoted text>
Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
25:31-46 This is a description of the last judgment. It is as an explanation of the former parables. There is a judgment to come, in which every man shall be sentenced to a state of everlasting happiness, or misery. Christ shall come, not only in the glory of his Father, but in his own glory, as Mediator.
The wicked and godly here dwell together, in the same cities, churches, families, and are not always to be known the one from the other; such are the weaknesses of saints, such the hypocrisies of sinners; and death takes both: but in that day they will be parted for ever. Jesus Christ is the great Shepherd; he will shortly distinguish between those that are his, and those that are not. All other distinctions will be done away; but the great one between saints and sinners, holy and unholy, will remain for ever.
The happiness the saints shall possess is very great. It is a kingdom; the most valuable possession on earth; yet this is but a faint resemblance of the blessed state of the saints in heaven. It is a kingdom prepared. The Father provided it for them in the greatness of his wisdom and power; the Son purchased it for them; and the blessed Spirit, in preparing them for the kingdom, is preparing it for them. It is prepared for them: it is in all points adapted to the new nature of a sanctified soul. It is prepared from the foundation of the world. This happiness was for the saints, and they for it, from all eternity. They shall come and inherit it. What we inherit is not got by ourselves. It is God that makes heirs of heaven. We are not to suppose that acts of bounty will entitle to eternal happiness. Good works done for God's sake, through Jesus Christ, are here noticed as marking the character of believers made holy by the Spirit of Christ, and as the effects of grace bestowed on those who do them.
The wicked in this world were often called to come to Christ for life and rest, but they turned from his calls; and justly are those bid to depart from Christ, that would not come to him. Condemned sinners will in vain offer excuses. The punishment of the wicked will be an everlasting punishment; their state cannot be altered. Thus life and death, good and evil, the blessing and the curse, are set before us, that we may choose our way, and as our way so shall our end be.

I appreciate your link and idea, but I think you really have to look more to how a Christian leads their life...and if you don't follow Christ's teachings, which were a lot like a Buddhists...then you really will not get to the "next level" so to speak. You aren't given your salvation...you have to prove you really believe, IMHO. And you do that by doing as Christ instructed.

You're quoting a radical right winger from a radical right wing online paper and this is "proof" that democrats teach "entitlement"?

Let's see if you KNOW the subject at all.

What are the current federal regulations to get foodstamps? I mean, state, use the average guideline.

What is the medium income for a family of four?

What is the guideline for a single parent to get assistance with their children under federal and state guidelines?

How are these monies teaching people "dependence" on poverty?

See, if you don't know the issue, spouting off radical right wing talking points won't make it any more clear to you. REpublicans, and those who vote for them, indicate they think Christ is a piece of shyte...and will do everything they can to get him into the streets, hungry and without any medical care.

No, the fundies give money to their churches...that's not a given it helps a lot of people...and I'm not talking the world..there are homeless families all over America...and hungry children right here...

Taxes should be paid so that everyone in this nation has equal access to health care, a good education to compete in the global market place, a safe place to live which means a good police department paid enough to choose only the best, along with fire fighters, jobs that allow a family to be be raised with food, clothing and shelter, and others which are necessities which many people do not have...this is what we should demand from our taxes...not paying bank CEOs to hand out Millions in bonus checks, or bailing out incompetent bankers who place bets on who will foreclose from their misleading mortgages...or wars that get oil for rich oil men and kill our soldiers whom we deny medical care...

We ARE paying taxes and will CONTINUE to pay taxes...that's not the argument..the issue is what moral character do you have and who do you want the taxes to go to? The rich, or the poor and middle class?

It's quite simple nc resident...you have your chance to define your moral character by voting who will get your taxes.

What are you doing to the "least of these" from your vote on how your money, however involuntarily you give it and you have Reagan to thank for that?

So you really have no clue about the gutting of these programs the republican have made and in such a fashion that we have millions of millions of homeless people walking this nation? Well, the republicans refused to pass another housing initiative calling for affordable housing for people....but then, you don't care. You're not a Christian, so it's no skin off your nose, right? And these poor are just Americans...let the Chinese come and work their children for pennies a day, right? Pollute our streams, air and land? Oh, wait, American corporations are doing that now since the republicans gutted regulations.

So basically, screw the least of these and by that, screw you too, Christ, right?

Affordable Housing??
How can people afford ANY kind of housing when they can't get a job??

Obama has killed the job market!

"Under Obama, black unemployment back to twice the white rate

Black unemployment, which at the end of the Bush administration broke a decades-long pattern of being twice white unemployment, has resumed its disturbing and prolonged trend under President Obama, with the rate among African Americans now at 13.4 percent, according to a new Pew Research report....."

Like I said hypocritical. That's right the rich democrats are getting richer as are the rich republicans. My church feeds hundreds of families a week, helps with immigration, supports unwed mothers, teaches English as a second language, holds AA meetings, food and nutrition for pregnant mothers and infants, vaccinations, blood drives, coat collections, etc. We don't need to do such under the "liberal" label. Get involved and stop whining.

Vaccinations WOW I am impressed. Many Christians are not protecting their kids with vaccinations. Glad to here not every church is driving the little buses.

Ask rich democrats and rich republicans if taxes should be raised on the rich. Most rich democrats say yes most rich republicans say no.

Then their is THE GIVING PLEDGE

See many republicans giving to the giving pledge? I don't!!!
